Abstract

Methods and apparatus for combining received uplink transmissions. In an embodiment, a method is provided that includes receiving a descrambled resource element associated with selected second channel state information (CSI2) and receiving a descrambling sequence used to generate the descrambled RE. The method also includes rescrambling the descrambled RE using the descrambling sequence to generate a rescrambled RE and modifying the descrambling sequence to generate a modified descrambling sequence. The method also includes descrambling the rescrambled RE with the modified descrambling sequence to generate a modified descrambled RE and accumulating the modified descrambled RE to form a combined CSI2 value.

Claims (39)

1. A method for processing wireless data via a communication network, comprising:

receiving one or more symbols via uplink transmissions from a user equipment through a 5G communication network;

calculating a norm gain value per symbol based on received symbols and configuration parameters retrieved from a parameter block;

detecting a second type of 5G Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) Format in accordance with resource elements (REs) of each symbol and the configuration parameters; and

activating a despreader to combine repeated REs in symbols in accordance with spreading sequence index and type indicated by the configuration parameters.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising categorizing resource elements (REs) by an RE identifier to generate RE information including categorizations of REs.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising forwarding the categorizations of REs from the RE identifier to a soft demapper to generate soft-demapped REs in accordance with the categorizations of REs.

4. The method of claim 3 , further comprising generating descrambled REs based on the soft-demapped REs and the categorizations of RE.

5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising determining uplink control information (UCI) value in accordance with the RE information and the descrambled REs.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein determining UCI value includes identifying the UCI value in accordance with descrambling sequences.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising calculating signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) in response to the categorizations of RE.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining a hypothesis value associated with the selected CSI2 information.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising modifying descrambling sequences to generate modified descrambling sequences.

10. An apparatus for processing wireless data via a communication network, comprising:

means for receiving one or more symbols via uplink transmissions from a user equipment through a 5G communication network;

means for calculating a norm gain value per symbol based on received symbols and configuration parameters retrieved from a parameter block;

means for detecting a second type of 5G Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) Format in accordance with resource elements (REs) of each symbol and the configuration parameters; and

means for activating a despreader to combine repeated REs in symbols in accordance with spreading sequence index and type indicated by the configuration parameters.

11. The apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising means for categorizing resource elements (REs) by an RE identifier to generate RE information including categorizations of REs.

12. The apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising means for forwarding categorizations of REs from RE identifier to a soft demapper to generate soft-demapped REs in accordance with categorizations of REs.

13. The apparatus of claim 12 , further comprising means for generating descrambled REs based on the soft-demapped REs and the categorizations of RE.

14. The apparatus of claim 13 , further comprising means for determining uplink control information (UCI) value in accordance with the RE information and the descrambled REs.

15. The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein means for determining UCI value includes means for identifying the UCI value in accordance with descrambling sequences.

16. The apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising means for calculating signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) in response to the categorizations of RE.

17. The apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising means for determining a hypothesis value associated with the selected CSI2 information.

18. The apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising means for modifying descrambling sequences to generate modified descrambling sequences.

19. A non-transitory computer readable medium on which are stored program instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations of processing and transmitting data, comprising:

receiving one or more symbols via uplink transmissions from a user equipment through a 5G communication network;

calculating a norm gain value per symbol based on received symbols and configuration parameters retrieved from a parameter block;

detecting a second type of 5G Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) Format in accordance with resource elements (REs) of each symbol and the configuration parameters; and

activating a despreader to combine repeated REs in symbols in accordance with spreading sequence index and type indicated by the configuration parameters.

20. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 19 , further comprising categorizing resource elements (REs) by an RE identifier to generate RE information including categorizations of RES.

21. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 20 , further comprising forwarding the categorizations of REs from the RE identifier to a soft demapper to generate soft-demapped REs in accordance with the categorizations of REs.
