Abstract

Systems and methods to generate an inhalable vapor in an electronic vaporization device. Described herein are cartridges including a vaporizable material that may be securely connected to a rechargeable base unit.

Claims (29)

1 . A cartridge device holding a vaporizable material for securely coupling with an electronic inhalable aerosol device, the device comprising:

a mouthpiece;

a fluid storage compartment holding a vaporizable material;

a base configured to fit into a rectangular opening that is between 13-14 mm deep, 4.5-5.5 mm wide, and 13-14 mm long, the base having a bottom surface comprising a first electrical contact and a second electrical contact, a first locking gap on a first lateral surface of the base, and a second locking gap on a second lateral surface of the base that is opposite first lateral surface.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first and second locking gaps are within 6 mm of the bottom surface.

3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first and second lateral surfaces are separated from each other by between 13-14 mm.

4 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a wick extending through the fluid storage compartment and into the vaporizable material.

5 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a resistive heating element in contact with the first and second electrical contacts.

6 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a heating chamber in electrical contact with the first and second electrical contacts.

7 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a detent extending from a third lateral wall of the base.

8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the vaporizable material comprises a nicotine salt solution.

9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the mouthpiece is attached opposite from the base.

10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the fluid storage compartment comprises an air path extending there through.

11 . The device of claim 1 , wherein at least part of the fluid storage compartment is within the base.

12 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first locking gap comprises a channel in the first lateral surface.

13 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first locking gap comprises a channel transversely across the first lateral surface parallel to the bottom surface.

14 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first locking gap comprises an opening or hole in the first lateral surface.

15 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first locking gap comprises a hole in the first lateral surface.

16 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first locking gap is between 0.1 mm and 2 mm wide.

17 . A cartridge device holding a vaporizable material for securely coupling with an electronic inhalable aerosol device, the device comprising:

a mouthpiece;

a fluid storage compartment holding a vaporizable material;

a base configured to fit into a rectangular opening that is between 13-14 mm deep, 4.5-5.5 mm wide, and 13-14 mm long, the base having a length of at least 10 mm, and a bottom surface comprising a first electrical contact and a second electrical contact, a first locking gap on a first lateral surface of the base positioned between 3-4 mm above the bottom surface, and a second locking gap on a second lateral surface of the base that is opposite first lateral surface.

18 . A cartridge device holding a vaporizable material for securely coupling with an electronic inhalable aerosol device, the device comprising:

a mouthpiece;

a fluid storage compartment holding a vaporizable material;

a rectangular base having a pair of minor sides that are between greater than 10 mm deep and between 4.5-5.5 mm wide, and a pair of major sides that are greater than 10 mm deep and between 13-14 mm wide, a bottom surface comprising a first electrical contact and a second electrical contact, and a first locking gap on a first lateral surface of the base positioned between 3-4 mm above the bottom surface, and a second locking gap on a second lateral surface of the base that is opposite first lateral surface;

a wick in fluid communication with the vaporizable material; and

a resistive heating element in fluid contact with the wick and in electrical contact with the first and second electrical contacts.
