Abstract

A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, an embodiment for detecting a map associated with a gaming session for a video game executing on a computing device associated with a first user, and obtaining a map equalizer profile associated with the map for the video game. Further embodiments can include determining a first avatar, associated with the first user, is located within a first environment of the map for the video game, and obtaining a first environment equalizer profile associated with the first environment. Additional embodiments can include providing first instructions to the computing device associated with the first user according to the map equalizer profile and the first environment equalizer profile. The first instructions indicate to the computing device to adjust audio output of the video game according to the map equalizer profile and the first environment equalizer profile. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

4 . The device of claim 3 , wherein the first equalizer profile comprises a map equalizer profile, wherein the third equalizer profile comprises a first environment profile equalizer.

5 . The device of claim 3 , wherein the server determines a second geographic location of the first avatar within the environment within the video game based on the monitoring of the gaming session, wherein the first avatar is associated with the first user of the video game, wherein the server obtains a fourth equalizer profile associated with the second geographic location, wherein the server provides, over the communication network, second instructions to the device associated with the first user according to the first equalizer profile and the fourth equalizer profile, wherein the operations comprise:

receiving, over the communication network, the second instructions from the server, wherein the second instructions indicate to the device to adjust the audio output of the video game according to the first equalizer profile and the fourth equalizer profile; and

in response to receiving the second instructions, automatically adjusting the audio output of the device for the video game according to the first equalizer profile and the fourth equalizer profile.

6 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the fourth equalizer profile comprises a second environment equalizer profile.

7 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the adjusting of the audio output of the video game according to the first equalizer profile and the fourth equalizer profile comprises generating third audio output over a third frequency range.

8 . The device of claim 7 , wherein the third audio output comprises second ambient noise associated with the video game.

9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the server determines an event associated with the first avatar based on the monitoring of the gaming session, wherein the server obtains an event equalizer profile associated with the event, wherein the servers provides, over the communication network, third instructions to the device associated with the first user according to the first equalizer profile and the event equalizer profile, wherein the operations comprise:

receiving, over the communication network, the third instructions from the server, wherein the third instructions indicate to the device to adjust the audio output of the video game according to the first equalizer profile and the event equalizer profile; and

in response to receiving the third instructions, automatically adjusting the audio output of the device for the video game according to the first equalizer profile and the event equalizer profile.

10 . The device of claim 9 , wherein the event includes one of loss of health, number of deaths within a time period, action of the first avatar, action of a second avatar associated with a second user, or combination thereof.

11 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the audio output is provided by a headset, wherein the server determines an anomaly of the headset, wherein the servers obtains a headset equalizer profile based on the anomaly of the headset, wherein the server provides, over the communication network, fourth instructions to the device associated with the first user according to the first equalizer profile and the headset equalizer profile, wherein the operations comprise:

receiving, over the communication network, the fourth instructions from the server, wherein the fourth instructions indicate to the device to adjust the audio output of the video game according to the first equalizer profile and the headset equalizer profile; and

in response to receiving the fourth instructions, automatically adjusting the audio output of the device for the video game according to the first equalizer profile and the headset equalizer profile.

12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the server determining of the anomaly of the headset comprises determining a type of headset.
