Abstract

A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for coding video data. Video data including a current picture and one or more other pictures is received. A first flag corresponding to whether the current picture is referenced by the one or more other pictures in a decoding order is checked. A second flag corresponding to whether the current picture is output; is checked. The video data is decoded based on values corresponding to the first flag and the second flag.

Claims (27)

1. A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon a computer program for coding video data, the computer program configured to cause one or more computer processors to:

receive coded video data comprising a current picture and one or more other pictures;

checking a first flag corresponding to whether the current picture is referenced by the one or more other pictures in a decoding order;

checking a second flag corresponding to whether the current picture is output,

wherein the first flag and the second flag are signaled in one of a picture header and a slice header associated with the coded video data, and

wherein a value of the second flag is inferred during decoding when on a value of the first flag is not explicitly signaled; and

decode the coded video data based on values corresponding to the first flag and the second flag.

2. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the computer program is further configured to cause one or more computer processors to determine that the current picture is not included in an encoded video stream in response to the first flag indicating that the current picture is not referenced by the one or more other pictures and the second flag indicating that the current picture is not output.

3. A computer system for coding video data, the apparatus comprising:

one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media configured to store computer program code; and

one or more computer processors configured to access said computer program code and operate as instructed by said computer program code, said computer program code comprising:

receiving code configured to cause the one or more computer processors to receive video data comprising a current picture and one or more other pictures;

first setting code configured to cause the one or more computer processors to set a first flag corresponding to whether the current picture is referenced by the one or more other pictures in a decoding order;

second setting code configured to cause the one or more computer processors to set a second flag corresponding to whether the current picture is output,

wherein the first flag and the second flag are signaled in one of a picture header and a slice header associated with the video data, and

wherein a value of the second flag is inferred during encoding when a value of the first flag is not explicitly signaled; and

encoding code configured to cause the one or more computer processors to encode the video data based on values corresponding to the first flag and the second flag.

4. The computer system for coding video data of claim 3 , the computer program code further comprising:

skipping code configured to cause the one or more computer processors to skip, in response to the first flag indicating that the current picture is not referenced by the one or more other pictures and the second flag indicating that the current picture is not output, the encoding of the current picture.

5. A method for determining bitstream conformance, executed by a processor, the method comprising:

performing a conversion between a visual media file and a bitstream of a visual media data according to a format rule,

wherein the bitstream includes a first flag corresponding to whether a current picture is referenced by one or more other pictures in a decoding order; and

wherein the bitstream includes a second flag corresponding to whether the current picture is output,

wherein the first flag and the second flag are a part of a picture header and a slice header included in the bitstream associated with the video data, and

wherein a value of the second flag is inferred during the conversion when a value of the first flag is not explicitly signaled.

6. The method for determining bitstream conformance of claim 5 , wherein the method further comprises:

in response to the first flag indicating that the current picture is not referenced by the one or more other pictures and the second flag indicating that the current picture is not output, skipping the conversion of the current picture.
