Abstract

Method and System for managing development of an application are disclosed. The method includes receiving one or more buildcards, where the one or more buildcards include information about the application to be developed and retrieving one or more features associated with the application to be developed based on the received one or more buildcards. The method also includes predicting a dependency matrix between the retrieved one or more features and determining a timeline for the development of the application based on the retrieved one or more features and the predicted dependency matrix.

Claims (58)

1 . A method for managing development of an application, the method comprises:

receiving one or more buildcards, wherein the one or more buildcards include information about the application to be developed;

retrieving one or more features associated with the application to be developed based on the received one or more buildcards;

predicting a dependency matrix between the retrieved one or more features; and

determining a timeline for the development of the application based on the retrieved one or more features and the predicted dependency matrix.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprises:

identifying a complexity of the application to be developed based on the one or more buildcards; and

dynamically allocating one or more squads for the development of the application based on the complexity of the application to be developed.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprises:

estimating a core component and a custom component in each of the retrieved one or more features; and

determining the timeline for the development of the application further based on the estimated core component and the custom component for each of the retrieved one or more features.

4 . The method of claim 2 , further comprises allocating one or more resources for the development of the application, wherein the one or more resources include at least one of designers and developers.

5 . The method of claim 2 , further comprises:

retrieving squad allocation data from a database;

assigning a first set of squads for the development of the application based on the retrieved squad allocation data and the complexity of the application;

predicting a first delay for one or more ongoing applications based on the assignment of the first set of squads to the application to be developed; and

allocating the first set of squads as the one or more squads for the development of the application when the predicted first delay is within a threshold value.

6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprises allocating another set of squads as the one or more squads for the development of the application when the predicted first delay is above the threshold value.

7 . The method as claimed in claim 2 , further comprises scheduling one or more calls between the one or more squads and a customer of the application, wherein a duration of each of the one or more calls is dynamically predicted.

8 . A system to manage development of an application, the system comprises:

a memory; and

a processor coupled to the memory and configured to:

receive one or more buildcards, wherein the one or more buildcards include information about the application to be developed;

retrieve one or more features associated with the application to be developed based on the received one or more buildcards;

predict a dependency matrix between the retrieved one or more features; and

determine a timeline for the development of the application based on the retrieved one or more features and the predicted dependency matrix.

9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

identify a complexity of the application to be developed based on the one or more buildcards; and

dynamically allocate one or more squads for the development of the application based on the complexity of the application to be developed.

10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

estimate a core component and a custom component in each of the retrieved one or more features; and

determine the timeline for the development of the application further based on the estimated core component and the custom component for each of the retrieved one or more features.

11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to allocate one or more resources for the development of the application, wherein the one or more resources include at least one of designers and developers.

12 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

retrieve squad allocation data from a database;

assign a first set of squads for the development of the application based on the retrieved squad allocation data and the complexity of the application;

predict a first delay for one or more ongoing applications based on the assignment of the first set of squads to the application to be developed; and

allocate the first set of squads as the one or more squads for the development of the application when the predicted first delay is within a threshold value.

13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the processor is further configured to allocate another set of squads as the one or more squads for the development of the application when the predicted first delay is above the threshold value.

14 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to schedule one or more calls between the one or more squads and a customer of the application, wherein a duration of each of the one or more calls is dynamically predicted.

15 . A computer readable storage medium having data stored therein representing software executable by a computer, the software comprising instructions that, when executed, cause the computer readable storage medium to perform:

receiving one or more buildcards, wherein the one or more buildcards include information about the application to be developed;

retrieving one or more features associated with the application to be developed based on the received one or more buildcards;

predicting a dependency matrix between the retrieved one or more features; and

determining a timeline for the development of the application based on the retrieved one or more features and the predicted dependency matrix.

16 . The computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , further comprises:

identifying a complexity of the application to be developed based on the one or more buildcards; and

dynamically allocating one or more squads for the development of the application based on the complexity of the application to be developed.

17 . The computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , further comprises:

estimating a core component and a custom component in each of the retrieved one or more features; and

determining the timeline for the development of the application further based on the estimated core component and the custom component for each of the retrieved one or more features.

18 . The computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , further comprises allocating one or more resources for the development of the application, wherein the one or more resources include at least one of designers and developers.

19 . The computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , further comprises:

retrieving squad allocation data from a database;

assigning a first set of squads for the development of the application based on the retrieved squad allocation data and the complexity of the application;

predicting a first delay for one or more ongoing applications based on the assignment of the first set of squads to the application to be developed; and

allocating the first set of squads as the one or more squads for the development of the application when the predicted first delay is within a threshold value.

20 . The computer readable storage medium of claim 19 , further comprises allocating another set of squads as the one or more squads for the development of the application when the predicted first delay is above the threshold value.
