Abstract

A server includes: a specifying unit for specifying a live-stream to be preferentially recommended; an obtaining unit for obtaining, for the specified live-stream to be preferentially recommended, a number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended; a generating unit for generating a group of users by selecting a number of users corresponding to the obtained number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended; and a setting unit for setting a list of live-streams to be recommended to a user included in the generated group of users such that the live-stream to be preferentially recommended is presented in priority over other live-streams in the list on a terminal of the user.

Claims (28)

1. A server, comprising:

a specifying unit for specifying a live-stream to be preferentially recommended;

an obtaining unit for obtaining, for the specified live-stream to be preferentially recommended, a number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended;

a generating unit for generating a group of users by selecting a number of users corresponding to the obtained number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended; and

a setting unit for setting a list of live-streams to be recommended to a user included in the generated group of users such that the live-stream to be preferentially recommended is presented in priority over other live-streams in the list on a terminal of the user,

wherein the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended is determined depending on an indicator of past performance of a streamer of the specified live-stream on a live-streaming platform, and the obtaining unit obtains the determined number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended,

wherein the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended is determined based on a first parameter depending on a streaming continuation rate of the streamer, and a second parameter depending on a viewing continuation rate of a viewer,

wherein the specifying unit specifies the live-stream as the live-stream to be preferentially recommended in response to receipt of a signal indicating start of the live-stream,

wherein the server further comprises an evaluation unit for giving a positive rating to the live-stream to be preferentially recommended when the live-stream satisfies an evaluation criterion regarding the first parameter, and giving a negative rating to the live-stream when the positive rating is not given to the live stream,

wherein the generating unit generates a new group of users when the live-stream to be preferentially recommended does not satisfy the evaluation criterion within a first period of time and the negative rating is not given by the evaluation unit, and

wherein the evaluation unit gives the negative rating to the live-stream to be preferentially recommended when the live-stream does not satisfy the evaluation criterion within a second period of time, the second period includes the first period and is longer than the first period.

2. The server of claim 1 , wherein the first parameter is set such that the higher past performance of the streamer, the greater the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended, and the second parameter is set such that the higher the past performance of the streamer, the smaller the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended.

3. The server of claim 1 , wherein the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended is determined also based on a probability that a user will select the live-stream when the live-stream is preferentially proposed to the user.

4. The server of claim 1 , wherein the setting unit sets the list of live-streams to be recommended to a user based on ratings given to the live-streams.

5. A method, comprising:

specifying a live-stream to be preferentially recommended;

obtaining, for the specified live-stream to be preferentially recommended, a number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended;

generating a group of users by selecting a number of users corresponding to the obtained number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended; and

setting a list of live-streams to be recommended to a user included in the generated group of users such that the live-stream to be preferentially recommended is presented in priority over other live-streams in the list on a terminal of the user,

wherein the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended is determined depending on an indicator of past performance of a streamer of the specified live-stream on a live-streaming platform,

wherein the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended is determined based on a first parameter depending on a streaming continuation rate of the streamer, and a second parameter depending on a viewing continuation rate of a viewer,

wherein the live-stream is specified as the live-stream to be preferentially recommended in response to receipt of a signal indicating start of the live-stream,

wherein the method further comprises giving a positive rating to the live-stream to be preferentially recommended when the live-stream satisfies an evaluation criterion regarding the first parameter, and giving a negative rating to the live-stream when the positive rating is not given to the live stream,

wherein the generating unit generates a new group of users when the live-stream to be preferentially recommended does not satisfy the evaluation criterion within a first period of time and the negative rating is not given by the evaluation unit, and

wherein the evaluation unit gives the negative rating to the live-stream to be preferentially recommended when the live-stream does not satisfy the evaluation criterion within a second period of time, the second period includes the first period and is longer than the first period.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the first parameter is set such that the higher past performance of the streamer, the greater the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended, and the second parameter is set such that the higher the past performance of the streamer, the smaller the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended.

7. The method of claim 5 , wherein the number of users to whom the live-stream is recommended is determined also based on a probability that a user will select the live-stream when the live-stream is preferentially proposed to the user.

8. The server of claim 5 , wherein the list of live-streams to be recommended to a user is set based on ratings given to the live-streams.
