Abstract

A third-party server, delegated by organizations to manage application environment, may maintain a plurality of guided workflow plans. At least one of the guided workflow plans may include one or more steps associated with setting up an interaction control policy. The third-party server may receive an interaction report associated with the organization. The interaction report may include metadata of one or more devices that interacted with other devices. The third-party server may identify a particular device to which existing interaction control policies of the organization are inapplicable. The third-party server may search for additional out-of-band information of the particular device using the metadata in the interaction report. The third-party server may select an applicable guided workflow plan for setting up an applicable interaction control policy for the particular device. A guided workflow may be presented via a graphical user interface according to the applicable guided workflow plan.

Claims (37)

1. A system comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory configured to store code comprising instructions, the instructions, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

receive, by a server, a plurality of external reports regarding policy compliance of messages, wherein the server is specified by a plurality of organizations to receive the external reports on behalf of the organizations;

identify, based on the external reports, a set of messages associated with a particular organization, the set of messages associated with metadata comprising a plurality of IP addresses;

determine a sender identity of the set of messages based on the metadata of the set of messages and data from the plurality of external reports associated with the plurality of organizations;

determine whether the set of messages associated with the sender identity meet one or more policies; and

provide, responsive to determining that a majority of the set of messages associated with the sender identity do not meet the one or more policies, a workflow configuring compliance of messages associated with the sender identity.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the workflow setting up compliance comprises a guided workflow plan for setting up an authentication protocol.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the workflow setting up compliance comprises a guided workflow plan for authorizing an entity.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more policies include an email authentication protocol.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more policies include a sender policy framework (SPF) authentication protocol and/or a domain keys identified mail (DKIM) authentication protocol.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the sender identity is determined additionally by additional out-of-band information searched by the server.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of external reports includes a Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC) report indicating successes or failures related to one or more authenticating protocols.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the workflow setting up compliance includes a step to add a domain keys identified mail (DKIM) key to be associated with the particular organization and a step to add an identifier of the particular organization to a sender policy framework (SPF) record.

9. A computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving, by a server, a plurality of external reports regarding policy compliance of messages, wherein the server is specified by a plurality of organizations to receive the external reports on behalf of the organizations;

identifying, based on the external reports, a set of messages associated with a particular organization, the set of messages associated with metadata comprising a plurality of IP addresses;

determining a sender identity of the set of messages based on the metadata of the set of messages and data from the plurality of external reports associated with the plurality of organizations;

determining whether the set of messages associated with the sender identity meet one or more policies; and

providing, responsive to determining that a majority of the set of messages associated with the sender identity do not meet the one or more policies, a workflow configuring compliance of messages associated with the sender identity.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the workflow setting up compliance comprises a guided workflow plan for setting up an authentication protocol.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the workflow setting up compliance comprises a guided workflow plan for authorizing an entity.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the one or more policies include an email authentication protocol.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the one or more policies include a sender policy framework (SPF) authentication protocol and/or a domain keys identified mail (DKIM) authentication protocol.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the sender identity is determined additionally by additional out-of-band information searched by the server.

15. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of external reports includes a Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC) report indicating successes or failures related to one or more authenticating protocols.

16. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the workflow setting up compliance includes a step to add a domain keys identified mail (DKIM) key to be associated with the particular organization and a step to add an identifier of the particular organization to a sender policy framework (SPF) record.

17. A non-transitory computer-readable medium configured to store computer code comprising instructions, the instructions, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

receive, by a server, a plurality of external reports regarding policy compliance of messages, wherein the server is specified by a plurality of organizations to receive the external reports on behalf of the organizations;

identify, based on the external reports, a set of messages associated with a particular organization, the set of messages associated with metadata comprising a plurality of IP addresses;

determine a sender identity of the set of messages based on the metadata of the set of messages and data from the plurality of external reports associated with the plurality of organizations;

determine whether the set of messages associated with the sender identity meet one or more policies; and

provide, responsive to determining that a majority of the set of messages associated with the sender identity do not meet the one or more policies, a workflow configuring compliance of messages associated with the sender identity.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the one or more policies include a sender policy framework (SPF) authentication protocol and/or a domain keys identified mail (DKIM) authentication protocol.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the sender identity is determined additionally by additional out-of-band information searched by the computing server.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the plurality of external reports includes a Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC) report indicating successes or failures related to one or more authenticating protocols.
