Abstract

A device and method for calibrating a delivery device includes providing a container A containing a nitrite, providing a container B containing an acid, releasing the contents of containers A and B, allowing the nitrite and acid to mix, waiting for a predetermined time, allowing air to combine with the mixture, and using NO and traces of NO 2 to check and calibrate NO and NO 2 sensors.

Claims (32)

1 .- 31 . (canceled)

32 . A system for automated calibration comprising

a calibration module, the calibration module containing a reservoir of chemical supplies comprising:

chemical reagents for calibration;

an ink jet; and

a platform that receives the calibration module.

33 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the system is wearable.

34 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the calibration module is designed for one-time use.

35 . The system of claim 32 wherein the calibration module draws power and computer logic from the platform.

36 . A system for calibrating a delivery device comprising

a container A comprising solution A comprising a nitrite;

a container B comprising a solution B comprising an acid;

wherein container A and container B are in communication with a target;

an NO sensor;

an NO2 sensor; and

a controller configured to control an amount of solution A and solution B released to the target.

37 . The system of claim 36 further comprising an ink jet generator used to release droplets of solution A to the target.

38 . The system of claim 36 further comprising an ink jet generator used to release droplets of solution B to the target.

39 . The system of claim 37 wherein the controller is configured to control a number and frequency of the droplets of solution A released to the target.

40 . The system of claim 38 wherein the controller is configured to control a number and frequency of the droplets of solution B released to the target.

41 . A system for automatic calibration comprising:

a single container comprising separate sources of compressed NO and NO 2 ,

an internal regulator with a pressure gauge, and a flow restrictor that regulates a gas flow;

a sensor module that detects oxygen, NO and NO 2 concentration in the gas flow;

an electronic board containing logic to monitor the pressure gauges; and

a computer controlling the flow restrictor.

42 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the system is wearable.

43 . A system for automatic calibration comprising:

a cassette comprising one or more single containers comprising separate sources of compressed NO and NO 2 , an internal regulator with a pressure gauge, and a flow restrictor that regulates a gas flow;

a sensor module that detects oxygen, NO and NO 2 concentration in the gas flow; and

an electronic board containing logic to monitor the pressure gauges;

a docking station that receives the cassette and performs the calibration automatically.
