CONVERSION SYSTEM FOR ZERO TURN LAWN EQUIPMENT
A trailing caster wheel conversion for a converted four-wheel drive self-propelled hydrostatic wheel driven lawn care equipment platform. The conversion requires removing the rear drive wheel and replacing with a trailing caster wheel assembly in spaced relation thereto and one another to provide a balance front wheel drive zero turn conversion with reduced turf impact during turning.
1 . A two-wheel drive steering conversion for a converted four-wheel drive zero turn lawn equipment comprising the steps of,
a. providing a four-wheel drive steering conversion on a zero-turn lawn equipment,
b. removing the rear drive wheels from the respective rear wheel drive motors,
c. mounting a pair of rear trailing caster wheel assemblies to the lawn care equipment frame in spaced relation to said respective rear wheel drive motors.
2 . A two-wheel drive steering conversion for a converted four-wheel drive zero turn lawn equipment set forth in claim 1 wherein said rear trailing caster wheel assemblies comprise,
apertured mounting brackets, a right-angle bracket extending therefrom, a pivot wheel mounted on the end thereof and a caster wheel pivot assembly extending therefrom.
3 . The two-wheel drive steering conversion for a converted four-wheel drive zero turn lawn equipment set forth in claim 1 wherein mounting said rear trailing caster wheel assemblies on said lawn care equipment frame in spaced relation to said wheel drive motor comprises,
said trailing caster wheel assemblies in spaced parallel relation to one another.
