Abstract

Prosthetic heart valve devices for percutaneous replacement of native heart valves and associated systems and method are disclosed herein. A prosthetic heart valve device configured in accordance with a particular embodiment of the present technology can include an expandable support having an outer surface and configured for placement between leaflets of the native valve. The device can also include a plurality of asymmetrically arranged arms coupled to the expandable support and configured to receive the leaflets of the native valve between the arms and the outer surface. In some embodiments, the arms can include tip portions for engaging a subannular surface of the native valve.

Claims (28)

1 - 30 . (canceled)

31 . A prosthetic treatment apparatus for treating a native valve having a native annulus and native leaflets, the prosthetic treatment apparatus comprising:

a support having a downstream portion and an upstream portion, wherein the support is expandable from a low-profile configuration for delivery to an expanded configuration for implantation at the native valve;

a prosthetic valve mounted to the support and adapted to allow blood flow in a downstream direction and to block blood flow in an upstream direction;

an arm coupled to the downstream portion of the support, wherein the arm extends in an upstream direction and is wrapped helically around an exterior of the support.

32 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the arm comprises a plurality of arms, and each arm of the plurality of arms comprises a wire loop wrapped helically around the exterior of the support.

33 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 31 , further comprising a covering disposed on the arm.

34 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 33 , wherein the covering is configured to promote tissue ingrowth.

35 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the arm comprises a wire having a first portion extending in an upstream and first circumferential direction, a loop at an upstream end of the first portion, and a second portion extending from the loop in a downstream and second circumferential direction.

36 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 35 , wherein the second circumferential direction is opposite the first circumferential direction.

37 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 31 , further comprising a flange extending outwardly from the upstream portion of the support.

38 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 37 , wherein the flange is integrally formed with the support.

39 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 37 , wherein the flange is a separate component coupled to the support.

41 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the arm is a separate component coupled to the support.

42 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the support is substantially cylindrical.

43 . A prosthetic treatment apparatus for treating a native atrioventricular valve having a native annulus and native leaflets, the prosthetic treatment apparatus comprising:

a prosthetic valve; and

a support configured to support the prosthetic valve within the native atrioventricular valve, the support comprising:

an atrial part configured to be deployed on an atrial side of the native valve annulus;

a cylindrical part to which the prosthetic valve is coupled, the cylindrical part configured to be deployed such that a ventricular end of the cylindrical part is disposed within the ventricle; and

a plurality of arms coupled to the ventricular end of the cylindrical part, wherein with the prosthetic treatment apparatus in a radially expanded configuration, the arms extend in an upstream direction and circumferential direction such that each arm is wrapped helically around an exterior of the support.

44 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 43 , wherein each arm of the plurality of arms comprises a wire loop wrapped helically around the exterior of the support.

45 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 43 , wherein each arm comprises a wire having a first portion extending in an upstream and first circumferential direction, a loop at an upstream end of the first portion, and a second portion extending from the loop in a downstream and second circumferential direction.

46 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 45 , wherein the second circumferential direction is opposite the first circumferential direction.

47 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 43 , further comprising a covering disposed on the plurality of arms.

48 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 43 , wherein the atrial part comprises a flange extending outwardly from an atrial end of the cylindrical portion.

49 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 49 , wherein the flange is a separate component coupled to the support.

50 . The prosthetic treatment apparatus of claim 43 , wherein the plurality of arms are separate components coupled to the support.
