Abstract

A door assembly for a seat unit provided within a vehicle cabin, in particular an aircraft cabin, the door assembly comprising at least a fixed base structure, a door element movably mounted on the base structure and which is movable between a fully retracted position and at least one deployed position, and a door slide device provided between the base structure and the door element to movably support the door element on the base structure. Further, the door slide device comprises at least a slide carrier bracket fixed to the base structure or the door element, at least one slide unit which is coupled to the slide carrier bracket in a normal operation mode, and at least one separate auxiliary slide arrangement.

Claims (47)

1. A door assembly for a seat unit provided within a vehicle cabin, the door assembly comprising:

a door movable between a retracted position and at least one deployed position; and

a door slide device to movably support the door, the door slide device including:

a slide carrier bracket coupled to the door;

a slide carrier unit having at least one slide unit coupled to the slide carrier bracket;

a slide support unit having at least one track, the at least one slide unit engaged with the at least one track; and

at least one auxiliary slide arrangement to support the door when the door is decoupled from the door slide device, the at least one auxiliary slide arrangement comprising at least one guide bar distinct from the at least one track and a retaining element configured for movement along the at least one guide bar.

2. The door assembly of claim 1 , wherein the slide support unit comprises a second track separate from the at least one track.

3. The door assembly of claim 1 , wherein the at least one slide unit is configured for movement within the at least one track.

4. The door assembly of claim 3 , wherein the at least one slide unit is configured to decouple from the slide carrier bracket in response to a jamming of the at least one slide unit in the at least one track.

5. The door assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a detachable joint mechanism to detachably mount the at least one slide unit to the slide carrier bracket.

6. The door assembly of claim 5 , wherein the detachable joint mechanism comprises a detachable detent element and a corresponding detent receiving element configured to detachably retain the detachable detent element.

7. The door assembly of claim 6 , wherein:

the detachable detent element comprises a detent pin; and

the detent receiving element comprises a detent hole into which the detachable detent element is detachably retained in a normal operation state of the door.

8. The door assembly of claim 1 , wherein the retaining element is configured for movement along the guide bar when the door is decoupled from the door slide device.

9. A vehicle cabin, comprising

a seat unit;

a door assembly for the seat unit, the door assembly including:

a door movable between a retracted position and at least one deployed position; and

a door slide device to movably support the door, the door slide device including:

a slide carrier bracket coupled to the door;

a slide carrier unit having at least one slide unit coupled to the slide carrier bracket;

a slide support unit having at least one track, the at least one slide unit engaged with the at least one track; and

at least one auxiliary slide arrangement to support the door when the door is decoupled from the door slide device, the at least one auxiliary slide arrangement comprising at least one guide bar distinct from the at least one track and a retaining element configured for movement along the at least one guide bar.

10. The vehicle cabin of claim 9 , wherein the slide support unit comprises a second track separate from the at least one track.

11. The vehicle cabin of claim 9 , wherein the at least one slide unit is configured for movement within the at least one track.

12. The vehicle cabin of claim 11 , wherein the at least one slide unit is configured to decouple from the slide carrier bracket in response to a jamming of the at least one slide unit in the at least one track.

13. The vehicle cabin of claim 9 , further comprising a detachable joint mechanism to detachably mount the at least one slide unit to the slide carrier bracket.

14. The vehicle cabin of claim 13 , wherein the detachable joint mechanism comprises a detachable detent element and a corresponding detent receiving element configured to detachably retain the detachable detent element.

15. The vehicle cabin of claim 14 , wherein:

the detachable detent element comprises a detent pin; and

the detent receiving element comprises a detent hole into which the detachable detent element is detachably retained in a normal operation state of the door.

16. The vehicle cabin of claim 9 , wherein the retaining element is configured for movement along the guide bar when the door is decoupled from the door slide device.

17. A seat unit for a vehicle cabin, the seat unit comprising:

a seat;

a furniture structure at least partially surrounding the seat; and

a door assembly including:

a door movable between a retracted position and at least one deployed position; and

a door slide device to movably support the door, the door slide device including:

a slide carrier bracket coupled to the door;

a slide carrier unit having at least one slide unit coupled to the slide carrier bracket;

a slide support unit having at least one track mounted to the furniture structure, the at least one slide unit engaged with the at least one track; and

at least one auxiliary slide arrangement to support the door when the door is decoupled from the door slide device, the at least one auxiliary slide arrangement comprising at least one guide bar distinct from the at least one track and a retaining element mounted to the door and configured for movement along the at least one guide bar.

18. The seat unit of claim 17 , wherein the slide support unit comprises a second track separate from the at least one track.

19. The seat unit of claim 17 , wherein the at least one slide unit is configured for movement within the at least one track.

20. The seat unit of claim 19 , wherein the at least one slide unit is configured to decouple from the slide carrier bracket in response to a jamming of the at least one slide unit in the at least one track.
