Methods of Treating or Preventing Migraine or Repetitive Occurrence of Common Migraine Headaches in a Subject Having Underlying Condition(s)
The invention provides methods for treating primary disorders of mood and affect, including depressive disorders, anxiety and sleep disorders and CNS disorders comprising the administration of a neurotoxin.
1 . A method of treating migraine in a subject having an accompanying sleep disorder, the method comprising administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition that comprises a botulinum toxin A in an amount effective to: a) treat the migraine in the subject; and b) decrease at least one symptom of the sleep disorder in the subject as compared to the symptom prior to the administrating;
wherein the sleep disorder is delayed sleep phase disorder, advanced sleep phase disorder, or a combination thereof.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject further has atopic disease.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject suffers from a pain.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the subject suffers from a pain.
5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the pain is responsive to tactile stimulation.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the pain is responsive to tactile stimulation.
7 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the treating results in relief from the pain.
8 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the treating results in relief from the pain.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the treating prevents a migraine.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering comprises an injection.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the injection comprises at least two injection sites.
12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the injection is multifocal.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering is transdermal administering.
14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the botulinum toxin type A is from Hall strain Clostridium botulinum.
15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition further comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
16 . A method of treating repetitive occurrence of common migraine headaches in a subject having an accompanying sleep disorder, the method comprising administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition that comprises a botulinum toxin A in an amount effective to: a) treat the repetitive occurrence of common migraine headaches in the subject; and b) decrease at least one symptom of the sleep disorder in the subject as compared to the symptom prior to the administrating;
wherein the sleep disorder is delayed sleep phase disorder, advanced sleep phase disorder, or any combination thereof.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the subject further has atopic disease.
18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the subject suffers from a pain.
19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the subject suffers from a pain.
20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the pain is responsive to tactile stimulation.
21 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the pain is responsive to tactile stimulation.
22 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the treating results in relief from the pain.
23 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the treating results in relief from the pain.
24 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the treating prevents a repetitive occurrence of common migraine.
25 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the administering comprises an injection.
26 . The method of claim 25 , the injection comprises at least two injection sites.
27 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the injection is multifocal.
28 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the administering is transdermal administering.
29 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the botulinum toxin type A is from Hall strain Clostridium botulinum.
30 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition further comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
