Abstract

Methods and systems directed to scanning, by an imaging device associated with a customer computing device, a Quick Response (QR) code displayed on a merchant computing device; decoding, by an application on the customer computing device, data embedded in the QR code; identifying, by the customer computing device and based on the decoded data, a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a web page of the merchant, wherein the URL includes a payment proxy associated with the merchant; presenting the web page on the customer computing device; transmitting, by the customer computing device, an indication of interaction with the web page comprising an intent to purchase item(s) offered for sale via the web page; and receiving, by the customer computing device, an indication of completion of a payment for the item(s) facilitated by parsing the payment proxy server(s) of a payment processing system.

Claims (40)

1. A method comprising:

scanning, by an imaging device associated with a customer computing device of a customer, a Quick Response (QR) code displayed on a display associated with a merchant computing device of a merchant;

decoding, by an application executing on the customer computing device, data embedded in the QR code to generate decoded data;

identifying, by the customer computing device and based at least in part on the decoded data, a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a web page of the merchant, wherein the URL includes a payment proxy associated with the merchant;

causing presentation of, on a display associated with the customer computing device, the web page;

transmitting, by the customer computing device, an indication of an interaction with an interactable element of the web page, wherein the interaction comprises an intent to purchase one or more items offered for sale via the web page; and

receiving, by the customer computing device, an indication of completion of a payment for a purchase of the one or more items, wherein the payment is facilitated at least in part by parsing of the payment proxy by one or more servers of a payment processing system.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the parsing is based on a stored association between the merchant and the payment proxy.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the stored association is established in a registration of the payment proxy with the payment processing system.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the payment is further facilitated least in part on receiving transaction data from one or more servers associated with the web page.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the web page includes details associated with the one or more items and other items that can be purchased.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the payment is batched with other payments and processed by the one or more servers of the payment processing system after a threshold period of time.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the payment proxy identifies a location of the merchant computing device.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the merchant computing device comprises at least one of a payment object reader or a point-of-sale (POS) device.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the merchant computing device additionally transmits payment related information to the customer computing device via at least one of Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), or Near-Frequency Communication.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the QR code is dynamic and changes based on a parameter comprising one or more of a user profile of the customer, a time of day, or a location.

11. A system comprising:

one or more processors; and

one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions executable by the one or more processors, wherein the instructions cause the one or more processors to perform acts comprising:

scanning, by an imaging device associated with a customer computing device of a customer, a Quick Response (QR) code displayed on a display associated with a merchant computing device of a merchant;

decoding, by an application executing on the customer computing device, data embedded in the QR code to generate decoded data;

identifying, by the customer computing device and based at least in part on the decoded data, a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a web page of the merchant, wherein the URL includes a payment proxy associated with the merchant;

causing presentation of, on a display associated with the customer computing device, the web page;

transmitting, by the customer computing device, an indication of an interaction with an interactable element of the web page, wherein the interaction comprises an intent to purchase one or more items offered for sale via the web page; and

receiving, by the customer computing device, an indication of completion of a payment for a purchase of the one or more items, wherein the payment is facilitated at least in part by parsing of the payment proxy by one or more servers of a payment processing system.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the parsing is based on a stored association between the merchant and the payment proxy.

13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the payment is further facilitated least in part on receiving transaction data from one or more servers associated with the web page.

14. The system of claim 11 , wherein the web page includes details associated with the one or more items and other items that can be purchased.

15. The system of claim 11 , wherein the merchant computing device comprises at least one of a payment object reader or a point-of-sale (POS) device.

16. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions executable by one or more processors that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform acts comprising:

scanning, by an imaging device associated with a customer computing device of a customer, a Quick Response (QR) code displayed on a display associated with a merchant computing device of a merchant;

decoding, by an application executing on the customer computing device, data embedded in the QR code to generate decoded data;

identifying, by the customer computing device and based at least in part on the decoded data, a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a web page of the merchant, wherein the URL includes a payment proxy associated with the merchant;

causing presentation of, on a display associated with the customer computing device, the web page;

transmitting, by the customer computing device, an indication of an interaction with an interactable element of the web page, wherein the interaction comprises an intent to purchase one or more items offered for sale via the web page; and

receiving, by the customer computing device, an indication of completion of a payment for a purchase of the one or more items, wherein the payment is facilitated at least in part by parsing of the payment proxy by one or more servers of a payment processing system.

17. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16 , wherein the parsing is based on a stored association between the merchant and the payment proxy.

18. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16 , wherein the web page includes details associated with the item one or more items and other items that can be purchased.

19. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16 , wherein a website associated with the web page is hosted by a controller associated with the payment processing system.

20. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16 , wherein the indication of the completion of the payment is interactable, wherein an interaction comprises at least one confirming a total amount, adjusting a tip amount, entering feedback, or applying a promotional discount.
