Abstract

In general, certain embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and/or systems for implementing a program guide, which comprises sending a first request and receiving a first response associated with a current or future program guide information. The current or future program guide information includes a first plurality of channel identifiers and a plurality of time slots that correspond to current or future time slots, and is displayed at a client device. A second request is sent, which indicates a requested time period that has already occurred and not displayed on the client device, and corresponds to navigation to a previous time slot. A second response is received, which is associated with past program guide information. The past program guide information includes a second plurality of channel identifiers and on-demand program information, and is displayed at the client device.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the generating for display the program guide information further comprises:

generating for display the plurality of source identifiers vertically.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of content item identifiers of the particular row corresponds to a plurality of live content items, and wherein the content item identifiers of the rows other than the particular row correspond to on-demand content items.

7. A system comprising:

a memory; and

control circuitry configured to:

generate for display program guide information comprising a plurality of rows, wherein each row of the plurality of rows comprises:

a source identifier of a plurality of source identifiers;

a plurality of time slots; and

a plurality of content item identifiers corresponding to a plurality of content items;

receive a user interface input requesting horizontal scrolling of a particular row of the program guide information; and

in response to the receiving the user interface input requesting horizontal scrolling, modify the display of the program guide information to shift a plurality of content item identifiers of the particular row by at least one time slot of the particular row, wherein content item identifiers of rows other than the particular row are not modified, wherein the plurality of content item identifiers of the particular row are sized according to a length of a corresponding content item of the plurality of content items, and wherein the content item identifiers of the rows other than the particular row are not sized according to a length of a corresponding content item of the plurality of content items.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:

determine, via a media content delivery server, that a client device associated with the display of the program guide information is not authorized to play a subset of a plurality of content items that correspond to a subset of content item identifiers of the plurality of content item identifiers; and

wherein the modifying the display of the program guide information to shift the plurality of content item identifiers of the particular row comprises removing the subset of content item identifiers from the particular row.

9. The system of claim 7 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to modify the display of the program guide information to shift the plurality of content item identifiers of the particular row by the at least one time slot of the particular row by:

removing display of a content item identifier, from the plurality of content item identifiers of the particular row, at a first edge of a first time slot of a plurality of time slots of the particular row; and

generating for display an additional content item identifier at a second edge of a second time slot of the plurality of time slots of the particular row.

10. The system of claim 7 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to generate for display the program guide information by:

generating for display the plurality of time slots horizontally, wherein the plurality of time slots comprises a plurality of past time slots, a plurality of current time slots, and a plurality of future time slots,

wherein each content item identifier of the plurality of content item identifiers are displayed chronologically according to the plurality of time slots.

11. The system of claim 7 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to generate for display the program guide information by:

generating for display the plurality of source identifiers vertically.

12. The system of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of content item identifiers of the particular row corresponds to a plurality of live content items, and wherein the content item identifiers of the rows other than the particular row correspond to on-demand content items.

13. A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that when executed by control circuitry cause the control circuitry to:

generate for display program guide information comprising a plurality of rows, wherein each row of the plurality of rows comprises:

a source identifier of a plurality of source identifiers;

a plurality of time slots; and

a plurality of content item identifiers corresponding to a plurality of content items;
