Abstract

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing dynamic, prioritized spectrum utilization management. The system includes at least one monitoring sensor, at least one data analysis engine, at least one application, a semantic engine, a programmable rules and policy editor, a tip and cue server, and/or a control panel. The tip and cue server is operable utilize the environmental awareness from the data processed by the at least one data analysis engine in combination with additional information to create actionable data.

Claims (36)

1. A system for spectrum monitoring in an electromagnetic environment comprising:

at least one monitoring sensor operable to continuously monitor the electromagnetic environment;

at least one data analysis engine operable to analyze data received from the at least one monitoring sensor; and

at least one server computer;

wherein the at least one data analysis engine includes an identification engine operable to identify a device or an emitter transmitting at least one signal of interest;

wherein the at least one server computer is operable to use analyzed data from the at least one data analysis engine and information relating to a rule or a policy to create actionable data; and

wherein the at least one server computer is operable to send at least one notification based on the actionable data in real time or near real time.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one data analysis engine further includes a geolocation engine operable to identify a location from which the at least one signal of interest is emitted.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one data analysis engine is further operable to determine modulation of signals and/or data types carried by the signals.

4. The system of claim 1 , further including a survey occupancy application, wherein the survey occupancy application is operable to determine occupancy in frequency bands.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the actionable data indicates at least one location for adding at least one macrosite and/or at least one tower.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the data analysis engine is operable to compare the data received from the at least one monitoring sensor to historical data.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one monitoring sensor includes at least one software-defined radio.

8. A system for spectrum monitoring in an electromagnetic environment comprising:

at least one monitoring sensor operable to continuously monitor the electromagnetic environment;

at least one data analysis engine operable to analyze data received from the at least one monitoring sensor; and

a semantic engine in communication with the at least one data analysis engine; and

at least one server computer;

wherein the at least one server computer is operable to use analyzed data from the at least one data analysis engine and information from the semantic engine to create actionable data; and

wherein the at least one server computer is operable to send at least one notification based on the actionable data.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one data analysis engine further includes a geolocation engine operable to identify a location from which at least one signal of interest is emitted.

10. The system of claim 8 , further including a survey occupancy application, wherein the survey occupancy application is operable to determine occupancy in frequency bands.

11. The system of claim 8 , wherein the actionable data indicates at least one location for adding at least one macrosite and/or at least one tower.

12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the data analysis engine is operable to compare the data received from the at least one monitoring sensor to historical data.

13. The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one monitoring sensor includes at least one software-defined radio.

14. The system of claim 8 , wherein the information from the semantic engine includes target data.

15. The system of claim 8 , wherein the information from the semantic engine is based on queries, searches, and/or search-related functions.

16. A method for spectrum monitoring in an electromagnetic environment comprising:

at least one monitoring sensor monitoring the electromagnetic environment;

analyzing measured data from the electromagnetic environment using at least one data analysis engine, thereby creating analyzed data;

creating actionable data using at least one server based on the analyzed data from the at least one data analysis engine and information including constraints associated with signal characteristics; and

the at least one server providing at least one notification based on the actionable data.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the at least one monitoring sensor continuously monitors the electromagnetic environment.

18. The method of claim 16 , wherein the actionable data is further based on at least one rule or at least one policy.

19. The method of claim 16 , wherein the at least one monitoring sensor includes at least one software-defined radio.

20. The method of claim 16 , further comprising a geolocation engine identifying a location from which at least one signal of interest is emitted.
