Abstract

This disclosure describes a system that allows a user to control the audio of a headset from a game controller. Audio controls are displayed on a screen of the game controller. In addition to the game controller, the disclosed system may comprise an app, on a device external from the game controller, that is also able to display the audio controls. The audio controls may be updated via the game controller or the app while the game controller and headset are being used.

Claims (33)

1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A system comprising:

a game controller comprising:

a wireless interface configured to communicate with a video game console and a remote device; and

a graphical user interface (GUI) with a user-customizable dashboard configured for access to an audio processing setting; and

an application (“app”) configured to operate on the remote device to display the audio processing setting.

22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein access to the audio processing setting enables an adjustment of one or more of a video game volume, a chat volume and a microphone volume.

23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the app is a mobile app and the remote device is a smartphone.

24 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the app is a mobile app and the remote device is a tablet.

25 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the app is operable to update the audio processing setting while the game controller is in use.

26 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the game controller is operable to control an audio signal that is sent to a headset.

27 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the game controller is operable to control an audio signal that is received from a microphone.

28 . A method comprising:

communicating, via a wireless interface of a game controller, with a video game console and a remote device;

accessing, via a user-customizable dashboard on a graphical user interface (GUI) of the game controller, an audio processing setting;

displaying the audio processing setting on a screen of the game controller; and

displaying the audio processing setting via an application (“app”) operating on the remote device.

29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein accessing the audio processing setting comprises adjusting one or more of a video game volume, a chat volume and a microphone volume.

30 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the app is a mobile app and the remote device is a smartphone.

31 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the app is a mobile app and the remote device is a tablet.

32 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the audio processing setting is adjustable while the game controller is in use.

33 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the method comprises controlling a headset via a signal sent from the wireless interface of the game controller.

34 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the method comprises controlling a microphone signal via the game controller.

35 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a program, wherein when operated by a processor, the program configures a method comprising:

communicating, via a wireless interface of a game controller, with a video game console and a remote device;

accessing, via a user-customizable dashboard on a graphical user interface (GUI) of the game controller, an audio processing setting;

displaying the audio processing setting on a screen of the game controller; and

displaying the audio processing setting via an application (“app”) operating on the remote device.

36 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein accessing the audio processing setting comprises adjusting one or more of a video game volume, a chat volume and a microphone volume.

37 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein the app is a mobile app and the remote device is one of a smartphone and a tablet.

38 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein the audio processing setting is adjustable while the game controller is in use.

39 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein the method, configured by the program, comprises controlling a headset via a signal sent from the wireless interface of the game controller.

40 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein the method, configured by the program, comprises controlling a microphone signal via the game controller.
