Abstract

A content distribution facilitation system is described comprising configured servers and a network interface configured to interface with a plurality of terminals in a client server relationship and optionally with a cloud-based storage system. A request from a first source for content comprising content criteria is received, the content criteria comprising content subject matter. At least a portion of the content request content criteria is transmitted to a selected content contributor. If recorded content is received from the first content contributor, the first source is provided with access to the received recorded content. The recorded content may be transmitted via one or more networks to one or more destination devices. Optionally, a voice analysis and/or facial recognition engine are utilized to determine if the recorded content is from the first content contributor.

Claims (54)

1 . A content management and distribution system, comprising:

a computer system comprising one or more computing devices;

a network interface; and

a computer storage system comprising a non-transitory storage device, said computer storage system having stored thereon executable program instructions that direct the computer system to at least:

provide for display on a user device of a first entity a user interface that enables the first entity to specify a content request, including at least an orientation and a length;

in response to a content request provided by the first entity via the user interface that enables the first entity to specify a content request, transmit a notification to one or more content providers regarding the content request;

enable one or more content providers, who received the content request provided by the first entity, to wirelessly transmit images, captured by a device of a respective content provider, to a cloud-based storage system via a content sharing application hosted on respective camera-equipped devices of the one or more content providers, wherein the one or more images comprise video content;

in response to one or more images being wirelessly transmitted to the cloud-based storage system via the content sharing application hosted on respective camera-equipped devices of the one or more content providers, providing a notification to the first entity that one or more images have been received;

enabling the first entity to edit at least item of video content transmitted to the cloud-based storage system using an editor user interface;

providing a user interface via the content sharing application hosted on a given device, enabling a given user to selectively publish, on one or more social media platforms, at least one of the one or more images;

transmitting a communication to a plurality of recipients regarding availability of new content; and

using face recognition to identify a name associated with a first face in a given transmitted image.

2 . The content management and distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the editor user interface provided by a corresponding content provider user device enables a duration of a given item of video content to be trimmed at one or both ends of the given item of video content.

3 . The content management and distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the program instructions further direct the computer system to:

tracking a number of content submissions received from respective content providers in a first plurality of content providers;

generating a ranking of the first plurality of content providers using the tracked number of content submissions received from respective content providers in the first plurality of content providers; and

providing the ranking of the respective content providers in the first plurality of content providers to at least one device.

4 . The content management and distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the program instructions further direct the computer system to:

use a voice biometrics analysis engine to determine if a voice associated with an item of transmitted media belongs to a content provider to whom the content request was transmitted to, wherein the voice biometrics analysis engine uses one or more of: a Hidden Markov model, a neural network, a Gaussian mixture model, or frequency estimation, and in response to a determination by the voice biometrics analysis engine that the voice does not belong to the content provider to whom the content request was transmitted to, perform a verification failure action.

5 . The content management and distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the program instructions further direct the computer system to:

enable the first entity to conduct a chat interaction with one or more content providers via the content sharing applications hosted on respective camera-equipped user devices.

6 . The content management and distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the program instructions further direct the computer system to:

wherein using face recognition to identify a name associated with a first face in a given transmitted image further comprises comparison of facial features of the first face in the given transmitted image to reference facial features associated with a name, wherein the face recognition is performing with a user of one or more of: PCA (Principal Component Analysis), Independent Component Analysis (ICA), EBGM (Elastic Bunch Graph Matching), LDA (Linear Discriminate Analysis), Trace transform, 3-D morphable face model, HMM (Hidden Markov model), or MSL (Multilinear Subspace Learning).

7 . The content management and distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the one or more social media platforms comprise a microblog platform and a social network platform.

8 . The content management and distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the program instructions further direct the computer system to cause a preview of the content request to be displayed to the first entity.

The content management and distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein a content request transmitted to a first content provider is accessible to the first content provider via an inbox provided via the content sharing application hosted on a device of the first content provider, the inbox configured to visually list content requests transmitted to the first content provider, including at least a portion of respective request text and an identifier associated with an entity that submitted the content request.

10 . A computer-implemented method, the method comprising:

providing, via a computer system comprising a processor device, for display on a user device of a first entity a user interface that enables the first entity to specify a content request, including at least an orientation;

in response to a content request provided by the first entity via the user interface that enables the first entity to specify a content request, transmitting over a network a notification to one or more users regarding the content request;

enabling one or more users, who received the content request provided by the first entity, to wirelessly transmit images, captured by a device of a respective user, to a storage system via a content sharing application hosted on respective camera-equipped devices of the one or more users, wherein the one or more images comprise video content;

in response to one or more images being wirelessly transmitted to the storage system via the content sharing application hosted on respective camera-equipped devices of the one or more users, providing a notification to the first entity that one or more images have been received;

enabling the first entity to edit at least item of video content transmitted to the storage system using an editor user interface;

provide a user interface via the content sharing application hosted on a given device, enabling a given user to selectively publish, on one or more social media platforms, at least one of the one or more images;

transmitting a communication to a plurality of recipients regarding availability of new content; and

using face recognition to identify a first face in a given transmitted image.

11 . The computer-implemented method as defined in claim 10 , wherein the editor user interface provided by a corresponding user device enables a duration of a given item of video content to be trimmed at one or both ends of the given item of video content.

12 . The computer-implemented method as defined in claim 10 , the method further comprising:

tracking a number of content submissions received from respective users in a first plurality of users;

generating a ranking of the first plurality of users using the tracked number of content submissions received from respective users in the first plurality of users; and

providing the ranking of the respective users in the first plurality of users to at least one device.

13 . The computer-implemented method as defined in claim 10 , the method further comprising:

use a voice biometrics analysis engine to determine if a voice associated with an item of transmitted media belongs to a user to whom the content request was transmitted to, wherein the voice biometrics analysis engine uses one or more of: a Hidden Markov model, a neural network, a Gaussian mixture model, or frequency estimation, and in response to a determination by the voice biometrics analysis engine that the voice does not belong to the user to whom the content request was transmitted to, perform a verification failure action.

14 . The computer-implemented method as defined in claim 10 , the method further comprising:

enabling the first entity to conduct a chat interaction with one or more users via the content sharing applications hosted on respective camera-equipped user devices.

15 . The computer-implemented method as defined in claim 10 :

wherein using face recognition to identify a name associated with a first face in a given transmitted image further comprises comparison of facial features of the first face in the given transmitted image to reference facial features associated with a name, wherein the face recognition is performing with a user of one or more of: PCA (Principal Component Analysis), Independent Component Analysis (ICA), EBGM (Elastic Bunch Graph Matching), LDA (Linear Discriminate Analysis), Trace transform, 3-D morphable face model, HMM (Hidden Markov model), or MSL (Multilinear Subspace Learning).

16 . The computer-implemented method as defined in claim 10 , the method further comprising:

using a voice biometrics analysis engine to determine if a voice associated with an item of transmitted media belongs to a user to whom the content request was transmitted to, wherein the voice biometrics analysis engine uses one or more of: a Hidden Markov model, a neural network, a Gaussian mixture model, or frequency estimation, and in response to a determination by the voice biometrics analysis engine that the voice does not belong to the user to whom the content request was transmitted to, perform a verification failure action.

17 . The computer-implemented method as defined in claim 10 , wherein the one or more social media platforms comprise a microblog platform and a social network platform.

18 . The computer-implemented method as defined in claim 10 , the method further comprising: causing a preview of the content request to be displayed to the first entity.

19 . The computer-implemented method as defined in claim 10 , the method further comprising:

identifying content requests initiated by the first entity;

generating a listing of content requests initiated by the first entity, the listing comprising an indication as to respective subject matters of the content requests, respective dates and times corresponding to when the respective requests were issued; and

enabling the listing of content requests to be presented on a device of the first entity.
