Abstract

Systems and methods for validating live programming content based on data are provided. A system can access an initial schedule for a live broadcast event provided by a broadcast provider computing system, and identify an initial start time for the live broadcast event and a duration for the live broadcast event. The system can receive an update relating to the live broadcast event from a data source. The system can determine that the initial schedule is invalid based on the update, and set a flag for the live broadcast event indicating that the initial schedule has changed. The system can then modify a selection policy for content to display with the live broadcast event responsive to the flag.

Claims (55)

1 . A system, comprising:

one or more processors coupled to non-transitory memory and in communication with a plurality of broadcast receiver devices, the one or more processors configured to:

determine that a scheduled start time of a broadcast of a live event is invalid based on a modified start time received from a data source;

modify a selection policy for content relating to the broadcast of the live event based on the modified start time;

determine that a broadcast receiver device of the plurality of broadcast receiver devices associated with a player profile is presenting a first broadcast;

generate, based on the player profile and responsive to determining that the broadcast receiver device is presenting the first broadcast, instructions to present a content item identifying the live event for display with the first broadcast and a wager recommendation corresponding to the live event; and

transmit, responsive to the one or more processors determining that the broadcast of the live event has started based on the modified start time, the instructions to the broadcast receiver device to cause the broadcast receiver device to present the content item identifying the wager recommendation with the first broadcast, the content item comprising an interactive object that, when interacted with, causes the broadcast receiver device to navigate to the broadcast of the live event.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

receive an update corresponding to the live event from the data source; and

determine the modified start time for the live event based on the update corresponding to the live event.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

generate a flag for the broadcast of the live event indicating that the scheduled start time of the broadcast of the live event is invalid.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

retrieve an initial broadcast schedule from a broadcast provider system; and

determine the scheduled start time of the broadcast of the live event based on the initial broadcast schedule.

5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

calculate a duration of the broadcast of the live event based on the initial broadcast schedule and the modified start time.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

generate the instructions further responsive to determining that the player profile comprises at least one attribute associated with the live event.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

generate the instructions that cause the broadcast receiver device to present a plurality of content items each corresponding to a respective live event.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

select the wager recommendation based on the player profile and the selection policy.

9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

receive a first interaction with the wager recommendation of the content item; and

generate a wager identifying the player profile responsive to the first interaction.

10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

determine, based on the modified start time, that the live event has started.

11 . A method, comprising:

determining, by one or more processors coupled to non-transitory memory and in communication with a plurality of broadcast receiver devices, that a scheduled start time of a broadcast of a live event is invalid based on a modified start time received from a data source;

modifying, by the one or more processors, a selection policy for content relating to the broadcast of the live event based on the modified start time;

determining, by the one or more processors, that a broadcast receiver device of the plurality of broadcast receiver devices associated with a player profile is presenting a first broadcast;

generating, based on the player profile and responsive to determining that the broadcast receiver device is presenting the first broadcast, instructions to present a content item identifying the live event for display with the first broadcast and a wager recommendation corresponding to the live event; and

transmitting, by the one or more processors, responsive to the one or more processors determining that the broadcast of the live event has started based on the modified start time, the instructions to the broadcast receiver device to cause the broadcast receiver device to present the content item identifying the wager recommendation with the first broadcast, the content item comprising an interactive object that, when interacted with, causes the broadcast receiver device to navigate to the broadcast of the live event.

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

receiving, by the one or more processors, an update corresponding to the live event from the data source; and

determining, by the one or more processors, the modified start time for the live event based on the update corresponding to the live event.

13 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

generating, by the one or more processors, a flag for the broadcast of the live event indicating that the scheduled start time of the broadcast of the live event is invalid.

14 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

retrieving, by the one or more processors, an initial broadcast schedule from a broadcast provider system; and

determining, by the one or more processors, the scheduled start time of the broadcast of the live event based on the initial broadcast schedule.

15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising:

calculating, by the one or more processors, a duration of the broadcast of the live event based on the initial broadcast schedule and the modified start time.

16 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

generating, by the one or more processors, the instructions further responsive to determining that the player profile comprises at least one attribute associated with the live event.

17 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

generating, by the one or more processors, the instructions that cause the broadcast receiver device to present a plurality of content items each corresponding to a respective live event.

18 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

selecting, by the one or more processors, the wager recommendation based on the player profile and the selection policy.

19 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

receiving, by the one or more processors, a first interaction with the wager recommendation of the content item; and

generating, by the one or more processors, a wager identifying the player profile responsive to the first interaction.

20 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

determining, by the one or more processors, based on the modified start time, that the live event has started.
