Abstract

Systems and methods for building management utilizing adaptive edge processing are disclosed. The building system can store gateway components on storage devices. The gateway components can facilitate communication with a cloud platform and facilitate communication with a physical building device. The building system can identify a computing system of the building that is in communication with the physical building device. The physical building device can store one or more data samples. The building system can deploy the gateway components to the computing system responsive to identifying that the computing system is in communication with the physical building device. The gateway components can cause the computing system to communicate with the physical building device to receive the one or more data samples and cause the computing system to communicate the one or more data samples to the cloud platform.

Claims (44)

1. A system, comprising:

one or more processors coupled to memory, the one or more processors configured to:

determine that a computing system of a building is to be updated, the computing system in communication with at least one physical building device configured to capture one or more data samples;

identify one or more gateway components to satisfy an update for the computing system; and

transmit the one or more gateway components to the computing system responsive to determining that the computing system in communication with the at least one physical building device is to be updated, causing the computing system to use the one or more gateway components to communicate with the at least one physical building device to receive the one or more data samples and transmit the one or more data samples to a cloud platform.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

receive at least one error relating to the update; and

transmit a notification to a cloud computing system indicating the at least one error.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more gateway components comprise one or more of an operating system upgrade or an upgrade to a component stored at the computing system.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to transmit, to the computing system, an updated integration component corresponding to a communication protocol of the at least one physical building device, causing the computing system to communicate with the at least one physical building device based on the updated integration component.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

determine that the computing system is in communication with the at least one physical building device; and

transmit the updated integration component responsive to determining that the computing system is in communication with the at least one physical building device.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to transmit updated configuration settings for the one or more gateway components to the computing system, causing the computing system to implement the one or more gateway components according to the updated configuration settings.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to transmit an additional gateway component to the computing system, the additional gateway component configured to cause the computing system to detect and configure an additional physical building device in communication with the computing system.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the one or more gateway components is configured to cause the computing system to generate analytics data based on the one or more data samples.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

determine that the computing system has available processing resources capable of executing the one or more gateway components; and

transmit the one or more gateway components to the computing system further responsive to determining that the computing system has available processing resources capable of executing the one or more gateway components.

10. A method, comprising:

determining, by one or more processors coupled to non-transitory memory, that a computing system of a building is to be updated, the computing system in communication with at least one physical building device configured to capture one or more data samples;

identifying, by the one or more processors, one or more gateway components to satisfy an update for the computing system; and

transmitting, by the one or more processors, the one or more gateway components to the computing system responsive to determining that the computing system in communication with the at least one physical building device is to be updated, causing the computing system to use the one or more gateway components to communicate with the at least one physical building device to receive the one or more data samples and transmit the one or more data samples to a cloud platform.

11. The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

receiving, by the one or more processors, at least one error relating to the update; and

transmitting, by the one or more processors, a notification to a cloud computing system indicating the at least one error.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the one or more gateway components comprise one or more of an operating system upgrade or an upgrade to a component stored at the computing system.

13. The method of claim 10 , further comprising transmitting, by the one or more processors, to the computing system, an updated integration component corresponding to a communication protocol of the at least one physical building device, causing the computing system to communicate with the at least one physical building device based on the updated integration component.

14. The system of claim 13 , further comprising:

determining, by the one or more processors, that the computing system is in communication with the at least one physical building device; and

transmitting, by the one or more processors, the updated integration component responsive to determining that the computing system is in communication with the at least one physical building device.

15. The method of claim 10 , further comprising transmitting, by the one or more processors, updated configuration settings for the one or more gateway components to the computing system, causing the computing system to implement the one or more gateway components according to the updated configuration settings.

16. The method of claim 10 , further comprising transmitting, by the one or more processors, an additional gateway component to the computing system, the additional gateway component configured to cause the computing system to detect and configure an additional physical building device in communication with the computing system.

17. The method of claim 10 , wherein at least one of the one or more gateway components is configured to cause the computing system to generate analytics data based on the one or more data samples.

18. The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

determining, by the one or more processors, that the computing system has available processing resources capable of executing the one or more gateway components; and

transmitting, by the one or more processors, the one or more gateway components to the computing system further responsive to determining that the computing system has available processing resources capable of executing the one or more gateway components.

19. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions embodied thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

determining that a computing system of a building is to be updated, the computing system in communication with at least one physical building device configured to capture one or more data samples;

identifying one or more gateway components to satisfy an update for the computing system; and

transmitting the one or more gateway components to the computing system responsive to determining that the computing system in communication with the at least one physical building device is to be updated, causing the computing system to use the one or more gateway components to communicate with the at least one physical building device to receive the one or more data samples and transmit the one or more data samples to a cloud platform.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising:

receiving at least one error relating to the update; and

transmitting a notification to a cloud computing system indicating the at least one error.
