Abstract

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing dynamic, prioritized spectrum utilization management. The system includes at least one monitoring sensor, at least one data analysis engine, at least one application, a semantic engine, a programmable rules and policy editor, a tip and cue server, and/or a control panel. The tip and cue server is operable utilize the environmental awareness from the data processed by the at least one data analysis engine in combination with additional information to create actionable data.

Claims (43)

1. A system for dynamic, prioritized spectrum utilization management in an electromagnetic environment comprising:

at least one monitoring sensor operable to monitor the electromagnetic environment and create measured data based on the electromagnetic environment;

at least one data analysis engine for analyzing the measured data;

at least one application; and

a tip and cue server;

wherein the at least one monitoring sensor is in communication with the at least one data analysis engine;

wherein the at least one application is operable to control the at least one monitoring sensor;

wherein the tip and cue server is in communication with the data analysis engine;

wherein the at least one data analysis engine is operable to identify open space in the electromagnetic environment based on the measured data;

wherein the at least one application includes a survey occupancy application and a resource brokerage application, wherein the survey occupancy application is operable to determine occupancy in frequency bands;

wherein the tip and cue server is operable to provide at least one report based on actionable data to optimize goals of the at least one application.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one monitoring sensor includes at least one antenna.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the at least one antenna includes a directional antenna.

4. The system of claim 3 , wherein the at least one antenna array includes at least one steerable antenna array.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one monitoring sensor includes at least one antenna array.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the survey occupancy application is operable to preprocess at least two signals that exist in the same band based on interference between the at least two signals.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is operable to provide information on the open space.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the system is operable to provide the information on the open space in real time.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the actionable data is processed using artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) algorithms to provide results and/or solutions for spectrum management based on policies.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is operable to survey the electromagnetic environment from 20 MHz to 6 GHz.

11. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a control plane operable to communicate with at least one base station.

12. A system for dynamic, prioritized spectrum utilization management in an electromagnetic environment comprising:

at least one monitoring sensor operable to monitor the electromagnetic environment and create measured data based on the electromagnetic environment;

at least one data analysis engine for analyzing the measured data;

at least one application; and

a tip and cue server;

wherein the at least one monitoring sensor is in communication with the at least one data analysis engine;

wherein the at least one application is operable to control the at least one monitoring sensor;

wherein the tip and cue server is in communication with the data analysis engine;

wherein the at least one application includes a survey occupancy application operable to determine occupancy in frequency bands;

wherein the tip and cue server is operable to provide at least one report based on actionable data to optimize goals of the at least one application.

13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the at least one monitoring sensor includes at least one directional antenna.

14. The system of claim 12 , wherein the system is operable to survey the electromagnetic environment from 20 MHz to 6 GHz.

15. The system of claim 12 , further comprising a control plane operable to communicate with at least one base station.

16. The system of claim 12 , wherein the survey occupancy application is operable to preprocess at least two signals that exist in the same band based on interference between the at least two signals.

17. A method for dynamic, prioritized spectrum utilization management in an electromagnetic environment comprising:

at least one monitoring sensor monitoring the electromagnetic environment and creating measured data based on the electromagnetic environment under control of at least one application;

at least one data analysis engine analyzing the measured data;

a survey occupancy application of the at least one application determining occupancy in frequency bands;

a tip and cue server providing at least one report based on actionable data to optimize goals of the at least one application.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the at least one monitoring sensor includes at least one directional antenna.

19. The method of claim 17 , further comprising surveying the electromagnetic environment in a frequency range between 20 MHz to 6 GHz.

20. The method of claim 17 , further comprising the survey occupancy application preprocessing at least two signals that exist in the same band based on interference between the at least two signals.
