FENESTRATED VASCULAR AORTIC REPAIR STENT, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Endovascular prostheses used to treat diseased blood vessels, such as arteries, are disclosed. In some embodiments, an endovascular prosthesis is configured to be implanted within a diseased blood vessel adjacent a diseased section. The endovascular prosthesis may include a fenestration tube through which a guidewire extends in a sealed configuration. The fenestration tube can be selectively openable and configured to sealingly receive an expandable endovascular prosthesis that extends into a side branch vessel of the diseased blood vessel.
1 . A fenestrated endovascular prosthesis comprising:
a body comprising a body wall defining a bore extending a length of the body, the body wall comprising a first material structure and a second material structure; and
a lumen, wherein:
the lumen extends from an interior of the second material structure to an exterior of the first material structure;
the lumen comprises a proximal opening in fluid communication with the bore and a distal opening in fluid communication with an exterior of the body; and
the lumen is configured to be selectively transitioned from a sealed configuration to an open configuration.
2 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the lumen comprises a seal region configured to prevent blood flow through the lumen when the lumen is in the sealed configuration.
3 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 2 , wherein the seal region is configured to be selectively un-sealed to allow blood flow through the lumen when the lumen is in the open configuration.
4 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 2 , wherein the seal region has a length in a range from 2 mm to 8 mm.
5 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 2 , wherein the seal region comprises an adhesive.
6 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 5 , wherein the adhesive comprises fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP).
7 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the lumen extends from proximal a proximal edge of the first material structure to distal a distal edge of the second material structure.
8 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of lumens, the plurality of lumens comprising the lumen.
9 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the lumen is defined by walls comprising at least one of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), silicone, or polyurethane (PU).
10 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the lumen is configured to sealingly receive a secondary endovascular prosthesis within the lumen when in the open configuration.
11 . The fenestrated endovascular prosthesis of claim 1 , further comprising a wire stent coupled to the body, the wire stent comprising a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a spine extending between the proximal portion and the distal portion.
12 . The fenestrated vascular prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the first material structure comprises two material layers, and wherein the second material structure comprises two material layers.
13 . A vascular prosthesis system, comprising:
a fenestrated endovascular prosthesis comprising:
a body comprising a body wall defining a bore extending a length of the body; and
a fenestration defining a lumen extending a length of the fenestration, wherein:
the fenestration extends between a first material structure and a second material structure of the body wall;
the lumen comprises a proximal opening in fluid communication with the bore and a distal opening in fluid communication with an exterior of the body; and
the lumen is selectively transitionable from a sealed configuration to an open configuration; and
a branch prosthesis configured to be sealingly disposed in the lumen when the lumen is in the open configuration.
14 . The vascular prosthesis system of claim 13 , wherein:
a proximal end of the branch prosthesis is configured to be disposed in the bore of the body when the branch prosthesis is sealingly disposed in the lumen of the fenestration; and
the branch prosthesis comprises a branch lumen configured to be in fluid communication with the bore when the branch prosthesis is sealingly disposed in the lumen of the fenestration.
15 . The vascular prosthesis system of claim 13 , wherein the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis comprises a plurality of fenestrations, the plurality of fenestrations comprising the fenestration.
16 . The vascular prosthesis system of claim 13 , further comprising a second branch prostheses configured to be sealingly disposed in a second fenestration of the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis.
17 . The vascular prosthesis system of claim 13 , wherein the fenestration extends from proximal a proximal edge of the first material structure to distal a distal edge of the second material structure.
18 . An endovascular prosthesis system comprising:
a fenestrated endovascular prosthesis comprising:
a tubular body, the tubular body comprising:
a bore defined by a wall;
a proximal portion; and
a distal portion;
a fenestration opening extending from the bore to an exterior of the tubular body, wherein:
the fenestration opening is in fluid communication with the bore in the proximal portion of the tubular body; and
the fenestration opening is in fluid communication with the exterior of the tubular body in the distal portion; and
a guidewire extending through the fenestration opening from the bore to the exterior of the tubular body, wherein:
the fenestration opening is configured to be sealed around the guidewire in a sealed configuration.
19 . The endovascular prosthesis system of claim 18 , further comprising a secondary endovascular prosthesis configured to be advanced along the guidewire, wherein the secondary endovascular prosthesis is configured to be sealingly disposed in a lumen of the fenestration opening when the fenestration opening is in an open configuration.
20 . The endovascular prosthesis system of claim 18 , wherein:
the tubular body comprises a first material structure defining the wall in the distal portion;
the tubular body comprises a second material structure defining the wall in the proximal portion; and
the fenestration opening extends from inside the second material structure to outside the first material structure.
