Abstract

Endovascular prostheses used to treat diseased blood vessels, such as arteries, are disclosed. In some embodiments, an endovascular prosthesis is configured to be implanted within a diseased blood vessel adjacent a diseased section. The endovascular prosthesis may include a fenestration tube through which a guidewire extends in a sealed configuration. The fenestration tube can be selectively openable and configured to sealingly receive an expandable endovascular prosthesis that extends into a side branch vessel of the diseased blood vessel.

Claims (49)

1 . A deployment device for an endovascular prosthesis comprising:

a distal tip;

a delivery catheter assembly, the delivery catheter assembly comprising:

an outer sheath configured to house a fenestrated endovascular prosthesis;

an inner sheath at least partially within the outer sheath and coupled to the distal tip; and

an intermediate sheath between the outer sheath and the inner sheath, the intermediate sheath comprising a guide lumen configured to slidably receive a guidewire;

a handle assembly; and

a guidewire extending from a periphery of the distal tip, through the guide lumen, and through the handle assembly.

2 . The deployment device of claim 1 , wherein the distal tip comprises grooves configured to provide a slidable path for the guidewire between the outer sheath and an exterior of the deployment device.

3 . The deployment device of claim 1 , wherein the inner sheath comprises a lumen configured to slidably receive a second guidewire.

4 . The deployment device of claim 1 , wherein the handle assembly comprises an opening adjacent a luer fitting, wherein the opening is configured to slidably receive the guidewire.

5 . The deployment device of claim 1 , wherein the outer sheath defines an annular space between the distal tip and the intermediate sheath, wherein the annular space of the outer sheath is configured to receive the guidewire between the distal tip and the intermediate sheath.

6 . The deployment device of claim 1 , wherein the guide lumen is adjacent an outer surface of the inner sheath.

7 . The deployment device of claim 1 , wherein the guide lumen comprises a blood flow restrictor member.

8 . The deployment device of claim 1 , wherein:

the delivery catheter assembly is configured to house the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis between the outer sheath and the inner sheath;

the delivery catheter assembly is configured to slidably receive the guidewire between the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis and the outer sheath in a first portion of the delivery catheter assembly; and

the delivery catheter assembly is configured to slidably receive the guidewire between the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis and the inner sheath in a second portion of the delivery catheter assembly.

9 . A system for deploying a fenestrated endovascular prosthesis comprising:

a fenestrated endovascular prosthesis, the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis comprising:

a wall defining a bore; and

a fenestration extending from the bore through the wall to an exterior of the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis;

a guidewire extending through the fenestration; and

a deployment device configured to slidably receive the guidewire, the deployment device comprising:

a delivery catheter assembly configured to receive the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis.

10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein:

the delivery catheter comprises an outer sheath configured to encircle the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis; and

the guidewire extends along a groove in a distal tip of the deployment device into the bore of the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis in the outer sheath.

11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein:

the delivery catheter assembly further comprises an intermediate sheath;

an annular space between the intermediate sheath and the distal tip is configured to receive the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis;

the guidewire extends from the exterior of the fenestrated endovascular prosthesis in the outer sheath into the intermediate sheath.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the intermediate sheath comprises a guide lumen configured to slidably receive the guidewire.

13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein:

the deployment device further comprises a handle assembly; and

the guidewire extends from the intermediate sheath into the handle assembly.

14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the guidewire extends out of the handle assembly through an opening in the handle assembly.

15 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the intermediate sheath comprises a blood flow restrictor member configured to prevent blood flow through the intermediate sheath into the handle assembly.

16 . A prosthesis deployment device comprising:

a delivery catheter assembly comprising:

an outer sheath;

an intermediate sheath disposed within the outer sheath, the intermediate sheath comprising a guide lumen configured to receive a first guidewire; and

an inner sheath disposed within the outer sheath, the inner sheath comprising a lumen configured to receive a second guidewire;

a housing operably coupled to the delivery catheter assembly; and

an actuator operably coupled to the housing such that displacement of the actuator displaces the outer sheath relative to the inner sheath to partially deploy the prosthesis.

17 . The prosthesis deployment device of claim 16 , further comprising a distal tip coupled to the delivery catheter assembly opposite the housing, the distal tip comprising a groove configured to receive the first guidewire and an opening configured to receive the second guidewire.

18 . The prosthesis deployment device of claim 16 , wherein the housing comprises a luer fitting configured to receive the second guidewire, and wherein the housing comprises a first opening outside the luer fitting configured to receive the first guidewire.

19 . The prosthesis deployment device of claim 16 , wherein the outer sheath is configured to receive the prosthesis such that the first guidewire extends through a wall of the prosthesis.

20 . The prosthesis deployment device of claim 16 , wherein the guide lumen comprises a blood flow restrictor member.
