Abstract

A method for generating a virtual tablet at a comfortable position relative to a user's hand in an extended reality environment.

Claims (37)

1. A method for generating a virtual tablet in an extended reality environment comprising:

displaying on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

detecting a hand gesture from a hand of the user and identifying the hand gesture as a request for a virtual tablet in the extended reality environment;

determining a furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user relative to the user's point of view in the extended reality environment; and

displaying the virtual tablet to the user at an n-distance added to the furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user, wherein the n-distance is calculated based on a size of the user's hand.

2. A method for generating a virtual tablet in an extended reality environment comprising:

displaying on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

detecting a hand gesture from a hand of the user and identifying the hand gesture as a request for a virtual tablet in the extended reality environment;

determining a furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user relative to the user's point of view in the extended reality environment; and

displaying the virtual tablet to the user at an n-distance added to the furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user, wherein the n-distance is calculated based on a length of a finger of the user.

3. A method for generating a virtual tablet in an extended reality environment comprising:

displaying on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

detecting a hand gesture from a hand of the user and identifying the hand gesture as a request for a virtual tablet in the extended reality environment;

determining a furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user relative to the user's point of view in the extended reality environment;

determining a center position of the hand of the user on an x-axis and y-axis; and

displaying the virtual tablet to the user at an n-distance added to the furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user, wherein the n-distance is calculated based on a size of the user's hand; and

displaying the virtual tablet in the extended reality environment on x-, y- and z axes according to the center position of the hand of the user and the n-distance added to the furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user.

4. A method for generating a virtual tablet in an extended reality environment comprising:

displaying on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

detecting a hand gesture from a hand of the user and identifying the hand gesture as a request for a virtual tablet in the extended reality environment;

determining a furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user relative to the user's point of view in the extended reality environment;

determining a center position of the hand of the user on an x-axis and y-axis; and

displaying the virtual tablet to the user at an n-distance added to the furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user, wherein the n-distance is calculated based on a length of a finger of the user; and

displaying the virtual tablet in the extended reality environment on x-, y- and z axes according to the center position of the hand of the user and the n-distance added to the furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user.

5. A system, comprising:

a processor in communication with a memory, the memory including instructions executable by the processor to:

display on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

detect a hand gesture from a hand of the user and identifying the hand gesture as a request for a virtual tablet in the extended reality environment;

determine a furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user relative to the user's point of view in the extended reality environment;

determine a center position of the hand of the user on an x-axis and y-axis; and

display the virtual tablet to the user on x-, y- and z axes according to the center position of the hand of the user and the n-distance added to the furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user, wherein the n-distance is based on the size of the user's hand or a length of a finger of the user.

6. A system, comprising:

a processor in communication with a memory, the memory including instructions executable by the processor to:

display on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

detect a hand gesture from a hand of the user and identifying the hand gesture as a request for a virtual tablet in the extended reality environment;

determine a furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user relative to the user's point of view in the extended reality environment; and

display the virtual tablet to the user at an n-distance added to the furthest z-axis position of the hand of the user, wherein the n-distance is based on the size of the user's hand or a length of a finger of the user.
