Abstract

Leveraging generative artificial intelligence (‘AI’) for securing a monitored deployment, including: receiving natural language input associated with the monitored deployment, the monitored deployment monitored by a monitoring tool; and receiving, from a generative AI application, a response to the natural language input, wherein: the generative AI application accesses publicly available information as well as data sources associated with the monitoring tool; and the response is generated based at least in part on information contained in the data sources associated with the monitoring tool.

Claims (43)

1. A method of leveraging generative artificial intelligence (‘AI’) for securing a monitored deployment that is observed by a monitoring tool and deployed in a cloud computing environment provided by a particular cloud services provider, the method comprising:

receiving natural language input associated with the monitored deployment; and

receiving, from a generative AI application, a response to the natural language input, wherein:

the generative AI application accesses data sources associated with the monitoring tool and information that is external to the monitoring tool that describes how various actions can be taken using the particular cloud services provider's interfaces; and

the response is generated based at least in part on the information that is external to the monitoring tool and information contained in the data sources associated with the monitoring tool.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein:

the generative AI application also accesses data describing the monitored deployment that is gathered by the monitoring tool; and

the response is generated based at least in part on the data describing the monitored deployment.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein:

the data describing the monitored deployment includes an alert generated by the monitoring tool; and

the response includes a natural language explanation of the alert.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the data sources associated with the monitoring tool includes data describing how to use the monitoring tool.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the data sources associated with the monitoring tool includes information contained in a user community for the monitoring tool.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein:

the data describing the monitored deployment includes an alert generated by the monitoring tool; and

the response includes a description of a workflow designed to resolve a condition identified in the alert.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein:

the monitoring tool supports multiple personas;

the natural language input is associated with a particular persona; and

the response is generated based at least in part on the particular persona.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein the response includes one or more suggested actions to be taken.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein the response includes a demonstration of performing some action in a user interface that is associated with the monitoring tool.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein the response includes a demonstration of performing some action in a user interface that is associated with a cloud services provider.

11. The method of claim 1 wherein the response includes a link to a portion of a user interface to take an action that is referenced in the response.

12. The method of claim 1 wherein:

the natural language input references a polygraph that is associated with the monitored deployment; and

the response includes information describing the polygraph that is associated with the monitored deployment.

13. The method of claim 1 wherein a user is presented with a proposed natural language input.

14. The method of claim 1 wherein:

the natural language input includes a request to learn about new features associated with the monitoring tool; and

the response includes information describing new features associated with at least one of the monitoring tool.

15. The method of claim 1 wherein the natural language input includes a request to generate a query, wherein the query accesses information maintained by a cloud services provider that supports the monitored deployment.

16. The method of claim 1 wherein the response includes information describing a policy that can be deployed by the monitoring tool.

17. A computer program product for leveraging generative artificial intelligence (‘AI’) for securing a monitored deployment that is observed by a monitoring tool and deployed in a cloud computing environment provided by a particular cloud services provider, the computer program product disposed on a non-transitory computer readable medium, the computer program product storing computer program instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device to:

receive natural language input associated with the monitored deployment; and

receive, from a generative AI application, a response to the natural language input, wherein:

the generative AI application accesses data sources associated with the monitoring tool and information that is external to the monitoring tool that describes how various actions can be taken using the particular cloud services provider's interfaces; and

the response is generated based at least in part on the information that is external to the monitoring tool and information contained in the data sources associated with the monitoring tool.

18. The computer program product of claim 17 wherein the data sources associated with the monitoring tool includes data describing how to use the monitoring tool.

19. A computer program product for leveraging generative artificial intelligence (‘AI’) for securing a monitored deployment, the computer program product disposed on a non-transitory computer readable medium, the computer program product including computer program instructions configurable to carry out the steps of:

receiving natural language input associated with the monitored deployment, the monitored deployment monitored by a monitoring tool; and

generating a response to the natural language input, including accessing publicly available information as well as data sources associated with the monitoring tool, wherein the monitored deployment is deployed in a cloud computing environment provided by a particular cloud services provider, the publicly available information includes information describing how various actions can be taken using the particular cloud services provider's interfaces, and the response is generated based at least in part on the information describing how various actions can be taken using the particular cloud services providers interfaces and information contained in the data sources associated with the monitoring tool.

20. The computer program product of claim 19 wherein the steps further comprise accessing data describing the monitored deployment that is gathered by the monitoring tool, wherein the response is generated based at least in part on the data describing the monitored deployment.
