E-CIGARETTE PERSONAL VAPORIZER
A user-replaceable e-liquid reservoir for dispensing e-liquid, the reservoir being inserted into, or otherwise attached to, a portable, personal e-cigarette device and engaging with an electrical or electronic pump fluid transfer system in the device, the device including: an electrical or electronic pump, being configured to transfer e-liquid from the e-liquid reservoir to an atomizing unit in the device, the pump delivering a pre-defined or variable quantity of e-liquid from the reservoir; and in which the reservoir is not user-refillable.
1 . A handheld electronic nicotine delivery system that includes (i) a device with a power source, a top surface, and side surfaces and (ii) a nicotine containing item;
in which the device comprises a channel with side walls, the channel running parallel to the side surfaces, the channel including an opening in the top surface that is configured to receive, from an end-user, a nicotine containing item that is slid by the end-user downwards through the opening and into the channel in the device;
and in which the nicotine containing item is in use heated by power derived from the power source to generate heat to create nicotine vapor;
and in which the device includes a liquid reservoir and the nicotine containing item is configured to be refillable from the liquid reservoir.
2 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the channel includes side walls including curved portions.
3 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the channel includes side walls with cylindrical sections, and those cylindrical sections are concentric with sections of the outer surface of the device.
4 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the device is a liquid refill and recharging device.
5 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the device is a desktop dock refill and recharging device.
6 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the device is a portable refill and recharging device.
7 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the nicotine containing item includes a rechargeable battery and a liquid reservoir.
8 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the liquid reservoir is a liquid container or bottle that is configured to be attached to the device by an end user.
9 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the device includes a mechanism to pump or transfer liquid from the liquid reservoir to a smaller liquid reservoir in the nicotine containing item.
10 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the system includes a power mode switch, that is operable to increase the amount of vapour produced by the nicotine containing item, compared to normal, by increasing the temperature reached in the nicotine containing item.
11 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the device is further configured to provide an indication to a user, through a haptic signal, when the device has reached the correct operating temperature.

The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the device is further configured to provide an indication to a user, through a haptic signal, when the device is due to cease to operate after it has vaporised nicotine substantially equivalent to a single combustible cigarette.
13 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the nicotine containing item is in use heated by a heating element that (i) draws power from an inductive power source and (ii) is oriented along a long axis of the nicotine containing item.
14 . The handheld electronic nicotine delivery system of claim 1 in which the opening in the top surface is configured to have (i) an open position in which the nicotine containing item can be slid by the end-user downwards through the opening and (ii) a closed position in which the opening is sealed shut; and in which the top surface of the device remains exposed when the opening is in both the open and also the closed positions.
