Abstract

A lighting device includes a phosphor having the general molecular formula (MA) a (MB) b (MC) c (MD) d (TA) e (TB) f (TC) g (TD) h (TE) i (TF) j (XA) k (XB) l (XC) m (X D) n :E. MA is selected from a group of monovalent metals, MB is selected from a group of divalent metals, MC is selected from a group of trivalent metals, MD is selected from a group of tetravalent metals, TA is selected from a group of monovalent metals, TB is selected from a group of divalent metals, TC is selected from a group of trivalent metals, TD is selected from a group of tetravalent metals, TE is selected from a group of pentavalent elements, TF is selected from a group of hexavalent elements, XA is selected from a group of elements which comprises halogens, XB is selected from a group of elements which comprises O, S and combinations thereof, XC=N and XD=C and E=Eu, Ce, Yb and/or Mn.

Claims (44)

1. A lighting device comprising a phosphor having the general molecular formula:

(MB)(Si 0.25 Al −1/8+r**/2 Li 7/8−r**/2 ) 4 (O 1−r** N r** ) 4 :E, wherein 0.25≤r**≤1, and wherein MB is selected from a group of divalent metals which comprises Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba and combinations thereof, and E=Eu, Ce, Yb and/or Mn.

2. The lighting device according to claim 1 ,

wherein E is Eu.

3. The lighting device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the phosphor has the general molecular formula Sr(Si 0.25 Al −1/8+r**/2 Li 7/8−r**/2 ) 4 (O 1−r** N r** ) 4 :E, wherein 0.25≤r**≤1 and E=Eu, Ce, Yb and/or Mn.

4. The lighting device according to claim 1 ,

wherein 0.4≤r**≤0.8.

5. The lighting device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the phosphor is a mixed phase of the compounds SrSiLi 3 O 3 N:Eu and Sr 2 Si 2 Al 3 Li 3 N 8 :Eu.

6. The lighting device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the phosphor crystallizes in a tetragonal crystal system.

7. The lighting device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the phosphor crystallizes in the space group I4/m.

8. A lighting device comprising a phosphor having the general molecular formula:

(MA) 1−y Zn y Li 3−2y Al 3y Si 1−y O 4−4y N 4y :E,

(MA) 1−y* Ca y* Li 3−2y* Al 3y* Si 1−y* O 4−4y* N 4y* :E,

(MA) 1−y*** Sr y*** Li 3−2y*** Al 3y*** Si 1−y*** O 4−4y*** N 4y*** :E

(MA) 1−y** Eu y** Li 3−2y** Al 3y** Si 1−y** O 4−4y** N 4y** :E

(MA)Li 3−y′ Al y′ SiO 4−2y′ N 2y′ :E,

(MA)Li 3−y″ Mg y″ SiO 4−y″ N y″ :E,

(MA) 1−w′″ Ca w′″ Li 3 SiO 4−w′″ N w′″ :E,

(MA)Li 3−w′ Al 2w′ Si 1−w′ O 4−w′ N w′ :E,

(MA) 1−w″ Ca w″ Li 3−w″ Si 1−w″ Al 2w″ O 4−2w″ N 2w″ :E,

wherein MA is selected from a group of monovalent metals which comprises Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Cu, Ag and combinations thereof, wherein

0< y*< 0.875,

0< y**≤ 1,

0≤ y***≤ 1,

0≤ y< 0.875,

0≤ y′≤ 1.75,

0≤ y″≤ 3,

0≤ w′″≤ 1,

0≤ w′≤ 1,

0≤w″≤1 and E is selected from a group which comprises Eu, Ce, Yb, Mn and combinations thereof.

9. The lighting device according to claim 8 ,

wherein 0<y**<0.875.

10. The lighting device according to claim 8 ,

wherein 0<y**<0.5.

11. The lighting device according to claim 8 ,

wherein 0.2≤y**<0.3.

12. The lighting device according to claim 8 ,

wherein 0<y***<0.875.

13. The lighting device according to claim 8 ,

wherein 0<y***<0.3.
