Abstract

Support assemblies for supporting a light-emitting diode (LED) lamp, which may be a heavy LED lamp. In an embodiment, a support assembly includes a frame having a ring and configured to be detachably connected to a front cover of an LED lamp. The support assembly also includes a plurality of position modules uniformly distributed around the periphery of the ring, wherein the position modules may cover at least a portion of the front cover of the LED lamp, and at least one support leg attached to the frame. The at least one support leg supports the frame and an inserted LED lamp on at least one support surface, and at least one support leg is slidably coupled to the frame and adjustable to provide a support length between the frame and the at least one support surface.

Claims (28)

1. A support assembly for a light-emitting diode (LED) lamp, comprising:

a frame comprising a ring and configured to be detachably connected to a front cover of the LED lamp;

a plurality of position modules uniformly distributed around the periphery of the ring, the position modules configured to cover at least a portion of the front cover of the LED lamp; and

at least one support leg attached to the frame and configured to support the frame and the inserted LED lamp on at least one support surface, wherein the at least one support leg is slidably coupled to the frame and adjustable to provide a support length between the frame and the at least one support surface.

2. The support assembly of claim 1 , further comprising at least one protrusion affixed to the frame and defining a cavity for partially accommodating the at least one support leg.

3. The support assembly of claim 2 , further comprising a sliding guide at least partially accommodated in the cavity, wherein the sliding guide comprises a through hole and wherein the at least one support leg is slidably adjustable along the sliding guide.

4. The support assembly of claim 3 , further comprising a fastener configured to extend into the cavity through a first hole in the protrusion and the through hole of the sliding guide to contact the at least one support leg, wherein when the fastener is tightened it affixes the at least one support leg at a desired support length.

5. The support assembly of claim 2 , further comprising a fastener configured to extend into the cavity through a first hole in the protrusion and to contact the at least one support leg, wherein when the fastener is tightened it affixes the at least one support leg at a desired support length.

6. The support assembly of claim 2 , wherein the at least one protrusion comprises a first protrusion and a second protrusion connected to lateral sides of the frame, and wherein the first protrusion defines a cavity for partially accommodating a first support leg and the second protrusion defines a cavity for partially accommodating a second support leg.

7. The support assembly of claim 6 , wherein the first protrusion and the second protrusion are connected to the frame in such manner that the first support leg and the second support leg are approximately parallel to each other when affixed thereto.

8. The support assembly of claim 1 , further comprising at least one clip for detachably coupling the front cover of the LED lamp to the at least one position module.

9. The support assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a rubber cushion affixed to an end of the at least one support leg.

10. A lighting system, comprising

a cover comprising an inner cavity and having an inner surface;

a lens connected to the cover and comprising an inner surface;

an LED lamp comprising a front cover; and

and the through hole of the sliding guide to contact the at least one support leg, wherein when the fastener is tightened it affixes the at least one support leg at a desired support length.

11. The lighting system of claim 10 , wherein the support assembly further comprises at least one protrusion affixed to the frame and defines a cavity for partially accommodating the at least one support leg.

12. The lighting system of claim 11 , wherein the support assembly further comprises a sliding guide at least partially accommodated in the cavity, wherein the sliding guide comprises a through hole and wherein the at least one support leg is slidably adjustable along the sliding guide.

13. The lighting system of claim 12 , wherein the support assembly further comprises a fastener configured to extend into the cavity through a first hole in the protrusion and the through hole of the sliding guide to contact the at least one support leg, wherein when the fastener is tightened it affixes the at least one support leg at a desired support length.

14. The lighting system of claim 11 , wherein the support assembly further comprising a fastener configured to extend into the cavity through a first hole in the protrusion and to contact the at least one support leg, wherein when the fastener is tightened it affixes the at least one support leg at a desired support length.

15. The lighting system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one protrusion of the support assembly comprises a first protrusion and a second protrusion connected to lateral sides of the frame, and wherein the first protrusion defines a cavity for partially accommodating a first support leg and the second protrusion defines a cavity for partially accommodating a second support leg.

16. The lighting system of claim 10 , wherein the support assembly further comprises at least one clip for detachably coupling the front cover of the LED lamp to the at least one position module.

17. The lighting system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one support leg of the support assembly comprises a rubber cushion on a distal end for contacting the at least one inner surface of the cover,

a support assembly for the LED lamp, wherein the support assembly comprises:

a frame comprising a ring and configured to be detachably connected to the front cover of the LED lamp;

a plurality of position modules uniformly distributed around the periphery of the ring, the position modules configured to cover at least a portion of the front cover of the LED lamp; and

at least one support leg attached to the frame and configured to support the frame and the inserted LED lamp on at least one of a portion of the inner surface of the cover and the inner surface of the lens within the inner cavity, wherein the at least one support leg is slidably coupled to the frame and adjustable to provide a support length between the frame and the at least one inner surface of the cover.
