Abstract

The present invention relates to a feeder housing for a harvesting machine. The feeder housing comprises a drive shaft positioned at the entrance of the housing, equipped with a plurality of drive sprockets. Multiple conveyance devices are wrapped around the drive shaft, and a series of cross bars are attached between the belts of the conveyance devices. The drive sprockets are designed with teeth that engage and synchronize the conveyance devices, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of the feeder housing. This feeder housing design provides improved performance and productivity for harvesting machines, enhancing the overall efficiency of the harvesting process.

Claims (23)

1 . A feeder housing for a harvesting machine, the housing comprising:

a drive shaft positioned at an exit of the housing and having a plurality of drive sprockets;

a plurality of conveyance devices wrapped around the drive shaft;

a plurality of cross bars attached between the plurality of belts; and

the plurality of drive sprockets have a plurality of teeth to engage and synchronize the plurality of conveyance devices.

2 . The housing of claim 1 , the drive shaft transfers power to the plurality of conveyance devices by the drive sprockets.

3 . The housing of claim 1 , the plurality of conveyance devices comprising elastomeric belts.

4 . The housing of claim 1 , the plurality of conveyance devices comprising chains.

5 . The housing of claim 1 , further comprising a second shaft positioned at an entrance of the housing.

6 . The housing of claim 5 , the second shaft having a plurality of second sprockets to engage the plurality of conveyance devices.

7 . The housing of claim 1 , the drive shaft having a hexagonal cross section.

8 . The housing of claim 1 , the drive shaft having a circular cross section.

9 . The housing of claim 1 , the crossbars each attach to at least two of the conveyance devices.

10 . The housing of claim 1 , the shaft further comprising shielding to mitigate material wrapping around the shaft.

11 . The housing of claim 1 , the crossbars having teeth to facilitate conveying material.

12 . The housing of claim 1 , the teeth comprising cylinders to engage the conveyance devices.

13 . A harvesting machine comprising:

a feeder housing having a plurality of feeder conveyance devices at a first end to feed crop material into the harvesting machine and convey the crop material;

a collecting tank;

a draper belt to convey the crop material from the feeder to the collecting tank; and

a plurality of sprockets to engage and synchronize the feeder conveyance devices.

14 . The harvesting machine of claim 13 , further comprising a second plurality of sprockets to engage and synchronize the draper belt.

15 . The harvesting machine of claim 13 , the feeder conveyance devices comprising a plurality of belts.
