Abstract

Provided are blender systems and methods that selectively control fan operation within the blender systems. For example, a blender system includes at least a fan, a blade assembly, and a motor used to operatively drive the blade assembly for blending. Operation of the fan may be independent of the operation of the motor. One or more operating parameters of the fan may be adjusted to selectively control the operation of the fan when one or more conditions are met. Adjusting the one or more operating parameters of the fan may include increasing or decreasing a speed of the fan. Further, adjusting the one or more operating parameters of the fan may include powering on or powering off the fan.

Claims (60)

1 . A method for controlling an operation of a blender system, the method comprising:

determining one or more conditions are met for adjusting one or more operating parameters of a fan of the blender system, wherein the blender system comprises at least the fan, a blade assembly, and a motor used to operatively drive the blade assembly for blending; and

adjusting the one or more operating parameters of the fan to selectively control an operation of the fan based on the one or more conditions being met, wherein the operation of the fan is independent of an operation of the motor.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the blender system further comprises at least one sensor; and

determining the one or more conditions are met comprises:

determining, by the at least one sensor, at least one of a temperature of the motor or air in the blender system; and

determining the temperature is greater than a threshold.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the blender system further comprises at least one sensor; and

determining the one or more conditions are met comprises:

determining the motor disposed is in a powered on state to operatively drive the blade assembly; and

determining, by the at least one sensor, that at least one of the motor or the blade assembly is inoperative.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the one or more conditions are met comprises receiving a selection of a blending program.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the one or more conditions are met comprises detecting the blender system comprises one or more food contents.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the one or more conditions are met comprises determining a duration of an operation of the motor in a powered on state is greater than a threshold.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the one or more conditions are met comprises determining a timer has expired.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the one or more conditions are met comprises:

comparing a current power consumption of the blender system to a maximum power configured for the blender system; and

determining the one or more conditions are met based on the comparison.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the one or more conditions are met comprises receiving a user input instructing adjustment of the one or more operating parameters of the fan.

10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a user input instructing adjustment of the one or more operating parameters of the fan;

determining at least one of a temperature of the motor or air in the blender system is greater than a threshold; and

determining that the one or more conditions are not met based on receiving the user input and the temperature being greater than the threshold.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more operating parameters of the fan of the blender system comprise:

an operating speed of the fan; or

a powered on or off state of the fan.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein adjusting the one or more operating parameters of the fan comprises increasing or decreasing a speed of the fan.

13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein adjusting the one or more operating parameters of the fan comprises powering on or powering off the fan.

14 . A blender system, comprising:

a blending container comprising a blade assembly;

a blender base operatively attachable to the blending container and comprising:

a housing comprising a pedestal configured to receive the blending container;

a motor disposed within the housing and used to operatively drive the blade assembly, and

a fan disposed within the housing; and

a controller configured to:

determine that one or more conditions are met for adjusting one or more operating parameters of the fan, and

adjust the one or more operating parameters of the fan to selectively control an operation of the fan based on the one or more conditions being met, wherein the operation of the fan is independent of an operation of the motor.

15 . The blender system of claim 14 , further comprising:

at least one sensor configured to:

determine at least one of a temperature of the motor or air in the housing; and

communicate the at least one of the temperature of the motor or the air in the housing to the controller, wherein the controller is configured to determine that the one or more conditions are met based on the at least one of the temperature of the motor or the air in the housing.

16 . The blender system of claim 14 , further comprising:

at least one sensor configured to:

determine that at least one of the motor or the blade assembly is inoperative while the motor disposed within the housing in in a powered on state to operatively drive the blade assembly; and

communicate an inoperability of the motor or the blade assembly to the controller, wherein the controller is configured to determine that the one or more conditions are met based on the inoperability of the motor or the blade assembly.

17 . The blender system of claim 14 , further comprising:

at least one sensor configured to:

recognize one or more food contents within the blending container; and

communicate an indication of the one or more food contents recognized within the blending container to the controller, wherein the controller is configured to determine that the one or more conditions are met based on the indication of the one or more food contents recognized within the blending container.

18 . The blender system of claim 17 , wherein the at least one sensor comprises at least one of:

an optical sensor;

a thermal sensor; or

an ultra-sonic sensor.

19 . The blender system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more operating parameters of the fan of the blender system comprise:

an operating speed of the fan; or

a powered on or off state of the fan.

20 . The blender system of claim 14 , wherein to adjust the one or more operating parameters of the fan, the controller is configured to, at least one of:

increase or decrease a speed of the fan
