TRICYCLIC FUSED THIOPHENE DERIVATIVES AS JAK INHIBITORS
The present invention provides tricyclic fused thiophene derivatives, as well as their compositions and methods of use, that modulate the activity of Janus kinase (JAK) and are useful in the treatment of diseases related to the activity of JAK including, for example, inflammatory disorders, autoimmune disorders, cancer, and other diseases.

A method of ameliorating or inhibiting a viral disease in a patient, comprising administering to said patient a compound, which is ((2R,5S)-5-{2-[(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-1H-imidazo[4,5-d]thieno[3,2-b]pyridin-1-yl}tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)acetonitrile, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
69 . The method of claim 68 , wherein the compound is ((2R,5S)-5-{2-[(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-1H-imidazo[4,5-d]thieno[3,2-b]pyridin-1-yl}tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)acetonitrile hydrate.
70 . The method of claim 68 , wherein the compound is a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of ((2R,5S)-5-{2-[(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-1H-imidazo[4,5-d]thieno[3,2-b]pyridin-1-yl}tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)acetonitrile.
71 . The method of claim 68 , wherein the viral disease is Epstein Barr Virus (EBV).
72 . The method of claim 68 , wherein the viral disease is Hepatitis B.
73 . The method of claim 68 , wherein the viral disease is Hepatitis C.
74 . The method of claim 68 , wherein the viral disease is HIV.
75 . The method of claim 68 , wherein the viral disease is HTLV 1.
76 . The method of claim 68 , wherein the viral disease is Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV).
77 . The method of claim 68 , wherein the viral disease is Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).
78 . The method of claim 68 , wherein ameliorating or inhibiting a viral disease in a patient further comprises administering to said patient at least one additional pharmaceutical agent.
79 . The method of claim 78 , wherein at least one of the additional pharmaceutical agents is a chemotherapeutic.
80 . The method of claim 78 , wherein at least one of the additional pharmaceutical agents is an anti-inflammatory agent.
81 . The method of claim 78 , wherein at least one of the additional pharmaceutical agents is a steroid.
82 . The method of claim 78 , wherein at least one of the additional pharmaceutical agents is an immunosuppressant.
83 . The method of claim 78 , wherein at least one of the additional pharmaceutical agents is administered simultaneously.
84 . The method of claim 78 , wherein at least one of the additional pharmaceutical agents is administered sequentially.
85 . A method of ameliorating or inhibiting a viral disease in a patient, comprising administering to said patient a compound, which is a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of ((2R,5S)-5-{2-[(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-1H-imidazo[4,5-d]thieno[3,2-b]pyridin-1-yl}tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)acetonitrile.
