POLYMER COMPOUND, COMPOSITION, ORGANIC FILM, AND ELECTROLUMINESCENT DEVICE COMPRISING POLYMER COMPOUND, AND METHOD OF PREPARING ELECTROLUMINESCENT DEVICE
A polymer compound including a structural unit represented by formula (1), and at least one of structural units represented by formula (2), formula (3), or formula (4), and a composition, an organic membrane, and an electroluminescence device including the polymer compound, and a method or producing the electroluminescence device are provided:
1 . A polymer compound comprising a structural unit represented by formula (1), and at least one of structural units represented by formula (2) to formula (4):
where in formula (1),
Ar 1 and Ar 2 are, each independently, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms,
Ar 3 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 120 carbon atoms,
Ar 4 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
Ar 5 is a single bond or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
Ar 6 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
R 1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkylthio group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a hydroxyl group (—OH), a carboxyl group (—COOH), a thiol group (—SH), or a cyano group (—CN), and
R 2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkylthio group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a hydroxyl group (—OH), a carboxyl group (—COOH), a thiol group (—SH), or a cyano group (—CN);
where in formula (2),
Ar 11 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
L 2 is a single bond or a saturated hydrocarbon group having 2 to 60 carbon atoms,
Ar 12 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group with 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
Ar 13 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
Ar 14 is a single bond, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
R 3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkylthio group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a hydroxyl group (—OH), a carboxyl group (—COOH), a thiol group (—SH), or a cyano group (—CN), wherein R 3 optionally forms a ring with another R 3 or with a carbon atom in a benzene ring to which R 3 is bonded, and
n is 1 or 2;
where in formula (3),
Ar 8 and Ar 9 are, each independently, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms,
Ar 10 is a single bond, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms, and
R 4 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkylthio group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a hydroxyl group (—OH), a carboxyl group (—COOH), a thiol group (—SH), or a cyano group (—CN), wherein R 4 optionally forms a ring with another R 4 or with a carbon atom in a benzene ring to which R 4 is bonded;
where in formula (4),
Ar 7 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 ring atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
L 1 is a single bond or a saturated hydrocarbon group having 2 to 60 carbon atoms,
R 5 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxygroup, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkylthio group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a hydroxyl group (—OH), a carboxyl group (—COOH), a thiol group (—SH), or a cyano group (—CN), wherein R 5 optionally forms a ring with another R 5 or with a carbon atom in a benzene ring to which R 5 is bonded, and
m is 1 or 2.
2 . The polymer compound of claim 1 , wherein the polymer compound comprises a structural unit represented by formula (1), and a structural unit represented by formula (2),
wherein in formula (2),
Ar 11 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms,
L 2 is a single bond, or a straight-chain or branched saturated hydrocarbon group having 4 to 12 carbon atoms,
Ar 12 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms,
Ar 13 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms,
Ar 14 is a single bond or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms,
R 3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or an alkenyl group, wherein R 3 optionally forms a ring with another R 3 or with a carbon atom in a benzene ring to which R 3 is bonded, and
n is 1 or 2.
3 . The polymer compound of claim 1 , wherein the polymer compound comprises a structural unit represented by formula (1), and a structural unit represented by formula (5) below:

Ar 11 , L 2 , Ar 12 , Ar 13 , Ar 14 , R 3 , and n are the same as defined in formula (2),
Ar 20 and Ar 21 are, each independently, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms,
Ar 22 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 120 carbon atoms,
Ar 23 is a single bond, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic ring group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
Ar 24 is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic ring group having 3 to 60 ring-forming atoms,
R 8 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkylthio group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a hydroxyl group (—OH), a carboxyl group (—COOH), a thiol group (—SH), or a cyano group (—CN),
R 9 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkyl thio group, an alkoxy carbonyl group, a hydroxyl group (—OH), a carboxyl group (—COOH), a thiol group (—SH), or a cyano group (—CN).
4 . The polymer compound of claim 1 , wherein the polymer compound comprises a structural unit represented by formula (1), and a structural unit represented by formula (3),
wherein in formula (3), at least one of Ar 8 or Ar 9 comprises an aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, wherein the aromatic hydrocarbon group is substituted with an alkyl group having 9 to 60 carbon atoms.
5 . The polymer compound of claim 1 , wherein the polymer compound comprises a structural unit represented by formula (1), a structural unit represented by formula (3), and a structural unit represented by formula (6) below:
wherein in formula (6),
Ar 8 to Ar 10 , and R 4 are the same as defined in formula (3),
Ar 9′ is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms, and
E is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms.
6 . The polymer compound of claim 1 , wherein the polymer compound comprises a structural unit represented by formula (1), and a structural unit represented by formula (7) below:

R 7 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkylthio group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a hydroxyl group (—OH), a carboxyl group (—COOH), a thiol group (—SH), or a cyano group (—CN).
7 . The polymer compound of claim 1 , wherein Ar 3 in formula (1) is selected from group (I) below:
wherein in Group (1),
R 111 to R 130 are, each independently, a hydrogen atom, or a straight-chain or branched hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and
* indicates a bonding position with an adjacent atom.
8 . The polymer compound of claim 1 , wherein Ar 1 , Ar 2 , and Ar 4 in formula (1) are, each independently, selected from Group (II′) below:
wherein in Group (II′),
R 211′ to R 232′ are, each independently, a hydrogen atom, or a straight-chain or branched hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and
* indicates a bonding position with an adjacent atom.
9 . The polymer compound of claim 1 , wherein Ar 6 in formula (1) is selected from Group (III) below:
wherein in Group (III),
R 311 to R 339 are, each independently, a hydrogen atom, or a straight-chain or branched hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms,
X indicates oxygen atom or sulfur atom, and
* indicates a bonding position with an adjacent atom.
10 . The polymer compound of claim 1 , wherein Ar 4 in formula (1) is represented by formula (a) or formula (b):
wherein in formula (a) and formula (b),
R 411 , R 412 , and R 415 to R 418 are, each independently, a hydrogen atom, or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, provided that one or more of R 411 and R 412 , and one or more of R 415 to R 418 , are, each independently, a straight-chain or branched alkyl group having 8 to 30 carbon atoms, and
R 413 , R 414 , and R 419 to R 421 are, each independently, a hydrogen atom, or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms.
11 . A composition comprising the polymer compound of claim 1 , and a material comprising a hole transport material, an electron transport material, a luminescent material, or a combination thereof.
12 . The composition of claim 11 , wherein the luminescent material comprises an organic metal complex.
13 . The composition of claim 11 , wherein the luminescent material comprises semiconductor nanoparticles.
14 . An organic film comprising the polymer compound of claim 1 .
15 . An electroluminescence device comprising a first electrode, a second electrode, and an organic film disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode,
wherein the organic film comprises one or more layers, and
wherein at least one of the one or more layers of the organic film comprises the polymer compound of claim 1 .
16 . The electroluminescence device of claim 15 , wherein the at least one of the one or more layers of the organic film comprising the polymer compound is a hole transport layer or a hole injection layer.
17 . The electroluminescence device of claim 15 , wherein the organic film comprises two or more layers, and wherein at least one of the two or more layers of the organic film further comprises a light-emitting layer comprising semiconductor nanoparticles or organic metal complex.
18 . A method of manufacturing an electroluminescence device comprising a first electrode, a second electrode, and an organic film disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and comprising one or more layers, wherein the method comprising:
forming at least one of the one or more layers of the organic film by coating a solution comprising the polymer compound of claim 1 and a solvent to a layer adjacent to the at least one of the one or more layers of the organic film to form a coated layer, and removing the solvent from the coated layer.
