Abstract

A decoding method performed by a decoding device according to the present document comprises: a step for determining the prediction mode of a current block on the basis of information on a prediction mode acquired from a bitstream; a step for deriving movement information on the current block on the basis of the prediction mode; a step for generating prediction samples of the current block on the basis of the movement information; and a step for generating reconstructed samples on the basis of the prediction samples, wherein the step for determining the prediction mode may include a step for acquiring a regular merge flag from the bitstream on the basis of a combined inter-picture merge and intra-picture prediction (CIIP) available flag that indicates whether or not a CIIP is available.

Claims (24)

1. A decoding method performed by a decoding apparatus, the method comprising:

obtaining, from a bitstream, general merge flag information, prediction mode information, combined inter-picture merge and intra-picture prediction (CIIP) enabled flag information representing whether the CIIP is enabled, and enabled flag information for a partitioning mode in which prediction is performed by dividing a current block into two partitions;

obtaining, from the bitstream, prediction related information based on the general merge flag information;

determining a prediction mode of the current block based on the prediction mode information;

deriving a motion information of the current block based on the prediction mode;

generating prediction samples of the current block based on the motion information; and

generating reconstructed samples based on the prediction samples,

wherein the determining comprises obtaining regular merge flag information from the bitstream based on the CIIP enabled flag information, the enabled flag information for the partitioning mode, and the general merge flag information, and

wherein the regular merge flag information is included in the prediction related information.

2. An encoding method performed by an encoding apparatus, the method comprising:

determining a prediction mode of a current block;

deriving motion information of the current block based on the prediction mode;

deriving predicted samples of the current block based on the motion information;

deriving residual samples based on the predicted samples; and

encoding image information including residual information generated based on the residual samples, general merge flag information, prediction mode information, combined inter-picture merge and intra-picture prediction (CIIP) enabled flag information representing whether the CIIP is enabled, and enabled flag information for a partitioning mode in which prediction is performed by dividing a current block into two partitions,

wherein the image information includes prediction related information based on the general merge flag information,

wherein the image information includes regular merge flag information based on the CIIP enabled flag information, the enabled flag information for the partitioning mode, and the general merge flag information, and

wherein the regular merge flag information is included in the prediction related information.

3. A transmission method of data for an image, the transmission method comprising:

obtaining a bitstream, wherein the bitstream is generated based on determining a prediction mode of a current block, deriving motion information of the current block based on the prediction mode, deriving predicted samples of the current block based on the motion information, deriving residual samples based on the predicted samples; and encoding image information including residual information generated based on the residual samples, general merge flag information, prediction mode information, combined inter-picture merge and intra-picture prediction (CIIP) enabled flag information representing whether the CIIP is enabled, and enabled flag information for a partitioning mode in which prediction is performed by dividing a current block into two partitions, and
