Abstract

The system generates a recommendation of content for use in collaboration, allowing relevant content to be used as base content. The system identifies a content item, and retrieves reviews for the content item from one or more sources or forums. The system filters the reviews to generate a reduced set of reviews based on text of the respective reviews, profile information associated with the reviews, and reference information. A recommendation metric is determined for the content item based on the reduced set of reviews and based on the one or more recommendation criteria. The recommendation criteria specify which aspects of the content impact recommendation, and how those aspects impact recommendation. The recommendation metric indicates whether the content item is recommended as base content, to be used for generating collaborative content. The system generates a recommendation indicator indicative of the recommendation metric, and outputs the indicator for display, storage, or both.

Claims (44)

1 .- 30 . (canceled)

31 . A method comprising:

determining at least one physical performance property from profile information associated with a user;

analyzing a media content item to determine a media content performance property corresponding to the at least one physical performance property;

based on the determined media content performance property, determining a compatibility score indicative of whether the media content item is compatible with the user's performance abilities based on profile information associated with the user;

generating for output a recommendation of the media content item based on determining that the compatibility score exceeds a threshold.

32 . The method of claim 31 , wherein:

the at least one physical performance property determined from the profile information comprises at least one selected from the group of an octave, pitch, adenoidal behavior, modulation, tone, volume, accent, language, and voice type, and

the media content performance property comprises at least one selected from the group of a tempo, octave, pitch, publishing date, artist, composer, language, genre, and lyrics.

33 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the at least one physical performance property comprises a vocal range of the user, wherein the media content performance property comprises a pitch of each musical note of the media content item, and wherein determining the compatibility score comprises determining a percentage of the musical notes of the media content item that are within the vocal range of the user.

34 . The method of claim 31 , wherein determining a compatibility score comprises:

calculating a spectral response of the media content item;

calculating an average user spectral response of a plurality of recorded content items associated with profile information associated with the user; and

comparing the spectral response of the media content item with the average user spectral response.

35 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the profile information is a first profile information, the at least one physical performance property is a first at least one physical performance property, and the media content performance property is a first media content performance property, further comprising:

analyzing a second at least one physical performance property determined from a second profile information relative to a second corresponding media content performance property of each of the plurality of media content items; and

wherein the compatibility score is further based on the analyzing the second at least one physical performance property to determine whether the second corresponding media content item is compatible with the user's performance abilities based profile information associated with the user.

36 . The method of claim 35 , wherein generating for output the recommendation of the media content item comprises generating a first recommendation of a first portion of the media content item and a second recommendation of a second portion of the media content item for output, wherein the first portion is compatible with the first profile information and the second portion is compatible with a second profile information.

37 . The method of claim 36 , wherein generating for output the first recommendation is generated for output on a first device and the second recommendation is generated for output on a second device.

38 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising transmitting, to a plurality of devices, an invitation to access the media content item.

39 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the identifying the media content item is further based on a content item consumption history associated with the profile information.

40 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the content item consumption history is received from a third-party application.

41 . A system comprising:

control circuitry configured to:

determine at least one physical performance property from profile information associated with a user;

analyze a media content item to determine a media content performance property corresponding to the at least one physical performance property;

based on the determined media content performance property, determine a compatibility score indicative of whether the media content item is compatible with the user's performance abilities based on profile information associated with the user; and

generate for output a recommendation of the media content item based on determining that the compatibility score exceeds a threshold.

42 . The system of claim 41 , wherein:

the at least one physical performance property determined from the profile information comprises at least one selected from the group of an octave, pitch, adenoidal behavior, modulation, tone, volume, accent, language, and voice type, and

the media content performance property comprises at least one selected from the group of a tempo, octave, pitch, publishing date, artist, composer, language, genre, and lyrics.

43 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the at least one physical performance property comprises a vocal range of the user, wherein the media content performance property comprises a pitch of each musical note of the media content item, and wherein determining the compatibility score comprises determining a percentage of the musical notes of the media content item that are within the vocal range of the user.

44 . The system of claim 41 , wherein determining a compatibility score comprises:

calculating a spectral response of the media content item;

calculating an average user spectral response of a plurality of recorded content items associated with profile information associated with the user; and

comparing the spectral response of the media content item with the average user spectral response.

45 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the profile information is a first profile information, the at least one physical performance property is a first at least one physical performance property, and the media content performance property is a first media content performance property, and wherein the control circuitry is configured to:

analyze a second at least one physical performance property determined from a second profile information relative to a second corresponding media content performance property of each of the plurality of media content items; and

wherein the compatibility score is further based on the analyzing the second at least one physical performance property to determine whether the second corresponding media content item is compatible with the user's performance abilities based profile information associated with the user.

46 . The system of claim 45 , wherein generating for output the recommendation of the media content item comprises generating a first recommendation of a first portion of the media content item and a second recommendation of a second portion of the media content item for output, wherein the first portion is compatible with the first profile information and the second portion is compatible with a second profile information.

47 . The system of claim 46 , wherein generating for output the first recommendation is generated for output on a first device and the second recommendation is generated for output on a second device.

48 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to transmit, to a plurality of devices, an invitation to access the media content item.

49 . The system of claim 41 , wherein identifying the media content item is further based on a content item consumption history associated with the profile information.

50 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the content item consumption history is received from a third-party application.
