Abstract

Methods and systems are disclosed for event management, allowing authorized users or authorities to distribute and display communications on digital displays. In one aspect, an event management communications system receives event data sent from a detection system comprised of a network of sensors. The event management communications system processes the event data to determine an event perimeter, and then selects one or more digital displays based upon the event data or the determined event perimeter. Next, the event management communications system authors one or more contextual communications corresponding to the one or more digital displays and sends said one or more authored communications to said one or more digital displays, thereby allowing the one or more digital displays to display the corresponding one or more communications to a relevant, identified audience.

Claims (39)

1. An event management communications computing device system configured to communicate over a network, wherein the system is caused to:

receive an event perimeter and one or more communications from a dissemination engine via a network;

determine a single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces connected to the network within the event perimeter;

convert the received one or more communications into a format recognizable by the determined single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces; and

send and display the converted one or more communications to each of the determined single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces within the received event perimeter;

wherein the system is further caused to:

detect a conclusion of the event based on data received from the dissemination engine via the network;

send a message to each of the determined single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces indicating completion of the event;

initiate a slowdown phase of the selected plurality of compatible digital interfaces, wherein the selected plurality of compatible digital interfaces render, for a pre-defined time period, the message that the event is concluded; and

switch the selected plurality of compatible digital interfaces to their default state.

2. The event management communications computing device system of claim 1 , wherein the system is caused to:

receive the event perimeter based on pre-configured criteria and based on received event data.

3. The event management communications computing device system of claim 1 , wherein converting the received one or more communications into a format recognizable by the determined single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces further comprises:

authoring one or more communications corresponding to the determined single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces.

4. The event management communications computing device system of claim 1 wherein the received event perimeter from the dissemination engine comprises:

a determined event perimeter based on event data received by the dissemination engine from a plurality of networked sensors, alert feeds and data sources connected to a communications network; and

an adjusted determined event perimeter based on at least one of an environmental condition and a situational awareness of the received event data.

5. The event management communications computing device system of claim 1 , wherein the system is further caused to:

send the one or more communications to the selected plurality of digital interfaces via one or more advertizing network operators connected to the network.

6. The event management communications computing device system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of digital interfaces comprises at least one of digital displays, digital signage systems, out-of-home (OOH) digital signage systems, monitors, wireless communication devices, mobile phones, or access devices connected to the network.

7. In an event management communications computing device system configured to communicate over a network, a method comprising:

receiving an event perimeter and one or more communications from a dissemination engine via a network;

determining a single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces connected to the network within the event perimeter;

converting the received one or more communications into a format recognizable by the selected one or more of the identified plurality of compatible digital interfaces; and

displaying the converted one or more communications on each of the determined single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces within the event perimeter,

detecting a conclusion of the event based on data received from the dissemination engine via the network;

sending a message to each of the determined single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces indicating completion of the event;

initiating a slowdown phase of the selected plurality of compatible digital interfaces, wherein the selected plurality of compatible digital interfaces render, for a pre-defined time period, the message that the event is concluded; and

switching the selected plurality of compatible digital interfaces to their default state.

8. The method of claim 7 further comprising:

receiving the event perimeter based on pre-configured criteria and based on received event data.

9. The method of claim 7 wherein converting the received one or more communications into a format recognizable by the determined single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces further comprises:

authoring one or more communications corresponding to the determined single or plurality of compatible digital interfaces.

10. The method of claim 7 wherein the received event perimeter from the dissemination engine comprises:

a determined event perimeter based on event data received by the dissemination engine from a plurality of networked sensors, alert feeds and data sources connected to a communications network; and

an adjusted determined event perimeter based on at least one of an environmental condition and a situational awareness of the received event data.

11. The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

sending the one or more communications to the selected plurality of digital interfaces via one or more advertizing network operators connected to the network.

12. The method of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of digital interfaces comprises at least one of digital displays, digital signage systems, out-of-home (OOH) digital signage systems, monitors, wireless communication devices, mobile phones, or access devices connected to the network.
