Abstract

Embodiments of this application provide a battery, an electric apparatus, a method for manufacturing battery, and an apparatus for manufacturing battery, so as to enhance stiffness and strength of the battery. The battery includes: a box; and a plurality of columns of battery cells accommodated in the box, where the battery cell includes a first wall and a second wall connected to each other, the first wall being a wall with a largest area of the battery cell and perpendicular to a first direction (z), the second wall being oblique to the first direction (z), and the first direction (z) being parallel to the direction of gravity. Each column of battery cells in the plurality of columns of battery cells are stacked along the first direction (z), and in each column of battery cells, adjacent ones of the battery cells are attached to each other via the first wall.

Claims (27)

1 . A battery comprising:

a box; and

a plurality of columns of battery cells accommodated in the box, wherein the battery cell is a polyhedral structure and comprises a first wall and a second wall connected to each other, the first wall being a wall with a largest area of the battery cell and perpendicular to a first direction (z), the second wall being oblique to the first direction (z), and the first direction (z) being parallel to the direction of gravity; wherein

each column of battery cells in the plurality of columns of battery cells are stacked along the first direction (z), and in each column of battery cells, adjacent ones of the battery cells are attached to each other via the first wall; and the plurality of columns of battery cells are arranged along a second direction (y) perpendicular to the first direction (z), and two adjacent columns of battery cells are attached to each other via the second wall.

2 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein the battery cell comprises two first walls parallel to each other and two second walls parallel to each other, and the battery cell has a parallelogram cross section on a plane perpendicular to the first walls and the second walls.

3 . The battery according to claim 2 , wherein in each column of battery cells, a plurality of second walls, on a same side, of a plurality of battery cells are on a same plane.

4 . The battery according to claim 3 , wherein the battery cell comprises two first walls parallel to each other and two second walls unparallel to each other, and the battery cell has a trapezoid cross section on the plane perpendicular to the first walls and the second walls.

5 . The battery according to claim 4 , wherein in each column of battery cells, a plurality of second walls, on one side, of a plurality of battery cells are on a same plane.

6 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein the first wall and the second wall extend along a length direction of the battery cell, and the length direction of the battery cell is perpendicular to the first direction (z) and the second direction (y).

7 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein each column of battery cells are stacked along a thickness direction of the battery cells, and the thickness direction of the battery cells is parallel to the first direction (z).

8 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein the battery cell further comprises a third wall located at an end of the battery cell in the length direction and connected to the first wall and the second wall; and

the battery cell further comprises an electrode terminal disposed on the third wall.

9 . The battery according to claim 8 , wherein the battery cell further comprises a pressure relief mechanism disposed on the third wall or the first wall.

10 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein the battery comprises N columns of battery cells, and each column of battery cells in the N columns of battery cells comprises M battery cells, wherein M and N are positive integers greater than 1, and N is greater than or equal to M.

11 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of columns of battery cells are sequentially attached to each other via the second walls to form an entirety.

12 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein a first spacer is provided between the plurality of columns of battery cells; and

the first spacer has walls oblique to the first direction (z) so as to be attached to the second walls of two columns of battery cells adjacent to the first spacer, wherein the first spacer is at least one of the following structures: a cross beam, a thermal management component, and a structural adhesive.

13 . The battery according to claim 12 , wherein the first spacer has a parallelogram or trapezoid cross section on the plane perpendicular to the first walls and the second walls.

14 . The battery according to claim 12 , wherein the first spacer is provided in a quantity of less than or equal to 5.

15 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of columns of battery cells are arranged perpendicular to the second direction (y) to form a row of battery cells; and

the battery further comprises an end plate disposed on at least one end of the row of battery cells in the second direction (y), wherein the end plate has a wall oblique to the first direction (z), and the oblique wall is configured to be attached to the second wall of the battery cell.

16 . The battery according to claim 15 , wherein thickness of the end plate at an end facing the direction of gravity is greater than thickness of the end plate at an end facing away from the direction of gravity.

17 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of columns of battery cells are arranged perpendicular to the second direction (y) to form a row of battery cells, and the battery comprises a plurality of rows of battery cells; and

a second spacer is provided between two adjacent rows of battery cells in the plurality of rows of battery cells, and the second spacer is at least one of the following structures: a cross beam, a thermal management component, and a structural adhesive.

18 . The battery according to claim 1 , wherein the battery further comprises thermal management components corresponding to walls other than the second walls of the plurality of columns of battery cells for thermal management of the plurality of columns of battery cells.

19 . The battery according to claim 18 , wherein the thermal management component is disposed between two adjacent battery cells in each column of battery cells.

20 . An electric apparatus comprising the battery according to claim 1 , wherein the battery is configured to supply electric energy to the electric apparatus.
