Abstract

An algorithm crowdsourcing, monetization, and exchange platform. The platform collects and organizes of a comprehensive set of modular computing algorithms, both already existing on the Internet and developed specifically for the users of the platform. Client computing environments are fully customizable with a minimum of programming knowledge through a set of application programmable interfaces (APIs). The platform is scalable from the simplest queries to integrated computing solutions for multinational commercial enterprises with strict cybersecurity requirements and complex workflows.

Claims (35)

1 . A system for algorithm crowdsourcing, monetization, and exchange, comprising:

a plurality of computing devices each comprising at least a processor, a memory, and a network interface;

wherein a plurality of programming instructions stored in one or more of the memories and operating on one or more of the processors of the plurality of computing devices causes the plurality of computing devices to:

receive newly developed algorithms from freelance developers;

store the newly developed algorithms in a non-volatile data storage device in a database comprising a plurality of modular computing algorithms;

receive input data from a client device for a computing task;

determine a plurality of computing subtasks required to complete the computing task;

for each of the plurality of computing subtasks, retrieve at least one of the modular computing algorithms;

compute a solution to the computing task using the retrieved modular computing algorithms and the input data;

transmit the solution to the computing task to the client device.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of computing devices is further caused to:

provide a means of allowing the client to customize its computing environment in the system through use of a first plurality of simplified application programming interfaces (APIs) to minimize coding requirements;

provide a set of application programming interfaces to facilitate construction of the computing task, the computing task comprising computing subtasks represented by one or more of the modular computing algorithms; and

when a computing subtask requires a modular computing algorithm that is not contained in the database, allow the client to post a request for development of a new modular computing algorithm for that computing subtask for a fee;

wherein the computing task and subtasks are defined using a domain-specific language.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of computing devices is further caused to verify a modular computing algorithm's ability to reach a solution to a computing subtask;

wherein the verification of a modular computing algorithm's ability to reach a solution to a computing subtask is determined by whether or not the execution of the algorithm on an exemplary computing subtask is achievable within a specified time complexity, or space complexity, or result accuracy, or result precision, or some combination thereof.

4 . The system of claim 1 wherein the plurality of computing devices is further caused to approve payment to the developer of a new modular computing algorithm when the new modular computing algorithm is used for completion of a computing subtask of the computing task.

5 . A method for algorithm crowdsourcing, monetization, and exchange, comprising the steps of:

receiving newly developed algorithms from freelance developers;

storing the newly developed algorithms in a non-volatile data storage device in a database comprising a plurality of modular computing algorithms;

receiving input data from a client device for a computing task;

determining a plurality of computing subtasks required to complete the computing task;

for each of the plurality of computing subtasks, retrieving at least one of the modular computing algorithms;

computing a solution to the computing task using the retrieved modular computing algorithms and the input data;

transmitting the solution to the computing task to the client device.

6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising the steps of:

providing a means of allowing the client to customize its computing environment in the system through use of a first plurality of simplified application programming interfaces (APIs) to minimize coding requirements;

providing a set of application programming interfaces to facilitate construction of the computing task, the computing task comprising computing subtasks represented by one or more of the modular computing algorithms; and

when a computing subtask requires a modular computing algorithm that is not contained in the database, allowing the client to post a request for development of a new modular computing algorithm for that computing subtask for a fee;

wherein the computing task and subtasks are defined using a domain-specific language.

7 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising the step of verifying a modular computing algorithm's ability to reach a solution to a computing subtask;

wherein the verification of a modular computing algorithm's ability to reach a solution to a computing subtask is determined by whether or not the execution of the algorithm on an exemplary computing subtask is achievable within a specified time complexity, or space complexity, or result accuracy, or result precision, or some combination thereof.

8 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising the step of approving payment to the developer of a new modular computing algorithm when the new modular computing algorithm is used for completion of a computing subtask of the computing task.

9 . One or more non-transitory computer-storage media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed by one or more processors of a computing system employing a similarity subsystem, cause the computing system to perform the method of claim 5 .
