Abstract

An electronic gaming system is described. The electronic gaming system includes a management server including a processor and a memory device storing computer-readable instructions. The instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive player identification data and game data. The instructions also cause the processor to request and receive, based upon the player identification data and from a player tracking server, player data associated with the player account, cause display, on a host device associated with a casino host, of at least a portion of the player data and the game data, and determine that the EGM should be disabled for a predetermined amount of time. The instructions further cause the processor to cause display of a message indicating that the EGM will be disabled and disable the EGM for the predetermined amount of time.

Claims (44)

1. An electronic gaming system comprising:

at least one memory with instructions stored thereon; and

at least one processor in communication with the at least one memory, wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:

receive, from an electronic gaming device, a first message indicating that gameplay associated with a player account is being provided at the electronic gaming device;

receive, from the electronic gaming device, a second message requesting that the electronic gaming device be taken offline;

cause the electronic gaming device to be taken offline; and

in response to a trigger condition being satisfied, cause the electronic gaming device to be taken online.

The electronic gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the second message includes an amount of time the electronic gaming device is requested to be taken offline, wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to cause the electronic gaming device to be taken online in response to expiration of the amount of time, the expiration of the amount of time being the trigger condition.

3. The electronic gaming system of claim 2 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to:

receive a request that the amount of time be extended; and

increase the amount of time the electronic gaming device will be taken offline in response to the request.

4. The electronic gaming system of claim 2 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to cause display, on the electronic gaming device, of a remaining amount of time, of the amount of time, that the electronic gaming device will be office.

The electronic gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to cause the electronic gaming device to be taken online in response to receiving a third message from the electronic gaming device, the third message requesting the electronic gaming device be taken online, the trigger condition being the third message.

The electronic gaming system of claim 5 , wherein the third message includes a player identifier (ID) associated with the player account, and wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to verify that the player ID is associated with the player account that requested the electronic gaming device be taken offline.

7. The electronic gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to:

cause display, on the electronic gaming device, of a plurality of amounts of time the electronic gaming device is eligible to be taken offline; and

cause the electronic gaming device to be taken offline in response to selection of an amount of time from the plurality of amounts of time.

8. The electronic gaming system of claim 7 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to determine the plurality of amounts of time based at least in part upon player account data associated with the player account.

9. At least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium with instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:

receive a first message indicating that gameplay associated with a player account is being provided at an electronic gaming device;

receive, from an end user device (EUD), a second message requesting that the electronic gaming device be taken offline;

cause the electronic gaming device to be taken offline; and

in response to a trigger condition being satisfied, cause the electronic gaming device to be taken online.

The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein the second message includes an amount of time the electronic gaming device is requested to be taken offline, wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to cause the electronic gaming device to be taken online in response to expiration of the amount of time, the expiration of the amount of time being the trigger condition.

11. The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 10 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to:

receive a request that the amount of time be extended; and

increase the amount of time the electronic gaming device will be taken offline in response to the request.

The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to cause the electronic gaming device to be taken online in response to receiving a third message, the third message requesting the electronic gaming device be taken online, the trigger condition being the third message.

The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 12 , wherein the third message includes a player identifier (ID) associated with the player account, and wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to verify that the player ID is associated with the player account that requested the electronic gaming device be taken offline.

14. The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to:

cause display, on the EUD, of a plurality of amounts of time the electronic gaming device is eligible to be taken offline; and

cause the electronic gaming device to be taken offline in response to selection of an amount of time from the plurality of amounts of time.

15. The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to determine the plurality of amounts of time based at least in part upon player account data associated with the player account.

16. The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the player account data comprises a loyalty tier of the player account.

17. A method of electronic gaming implemented by at least one processor in communication with at least one memory, the method comprising:

receiving, from at least one of an electronic gaming device or an end user device (EUD), a first message indicating that gameplay associated with a player account is being provided at the electronic gaming device;

receiving, from at least one of the electronic gaming device or the EUD, a second message requesting that the electronic gaming device be taken offline;

causing the electronic gaming device to be taken offline; and

in response to a trigger condition being satisfied, causing the electronic gaming device to be taken online.

The method of claim 17 , wherein the second message includes an amount of time the electronic gaming device is requested to be taken offline, wherein the method further comprises causing the electronic gaming device to be taken online in response to expiration of the amount of time, the expiration of the amount of time being the trigger condition.

19. The method of claim 18 , further comprising:

receiving, from at least one of the electronic gaming device or the EUD, a request that the amount of time be extended; and

increasing the amount of time the electronic gaming device will be taken offline in response to the request.

The method of claim 17 , further comprising causing the electronic gaming device to be taken online in response to receiving a third message from at least one of the electronic gaming device or the EUD, the third message requesting the electronic gaming device be taken online, the trigger condition being the third message.
