Abstract

Wearable devices can be used to provide therapy to users and/or to monitor various physiological parameters of the user. In some cases, therapy can be triggered automatically based on the monitored physiological parameters reaching or exceeding predefined thresholds.

a controller operatively coupled to the first plurality of vibration motors and the second plurality of vibration motors; and

a user interface operatively coupled to the controller to activate the first plurality of vibration motors and the second plurality of vibration motors,

wherein the controller is operable to generate vibrations with the first plurality of vibration motors and the second plurality of vibration motors such that the user experiences a wave sequence of vibrations from front to back during use.

2. The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the user interface includes one or more buttons.

3. The wearable device of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of infrared light emitting diodes coupled to the controller and arranged to emit infrared light on the head of the user.

4. The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the headband includes first and second layers of material and the first plurality of vibration motors and the second plurality of vibration motors are located between the first and second layers of material.

5. The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the controller is operable to activate two or more of the first plurality of vibration motors at different levels to provide vibration therapy to the user.

6. The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the first plurality of vibration motors extends from a right temple of the user to a right ear of the user when the headband is worn by the user and the second plurality of vibration motors extends from a left temple of the user to a left ear of the user when the headband is worn by the user.

7. The wearable device of claim 6 , further comprising a third plurality of vibration motors mounted to the headband on the right side to be located behind the right ear of the user when the headband is worn by the user and a fourth plurality of vibration motors mounted to the headband on the left side to be located behind the left ear of the user when the headband is worn by the user.

8. The wearable device of claim 1 , further comprising one or more sensors coupled to the controller to measure one or more physiological parameters of the user.

9. The wearable device of claim 8 , wherein the one or more sensors include a heart rate sensor to measure a heart rate of the user.

10. The wearable device of claim 8 , wherein the one or more sensors include a plurality of EEG sensors to measure brainwaves of the user.

11. The wearable device of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of thermal elements coupled to the controller to provide thermal therapy to the user.

12. The wearable device of claim 1 , further comprising a temperature sensor coupled to the controller to measure a temperature of the user.

13. The wearable device of claim 1 , further comprising a third plurality of vibration motors mounted to the headband.

14. The wearable device of claim 13 , wherein the headband includes a main portion having the right side and the left side and a second portion extending from the main portion, wherein the third plurality of vibration motors are mounted to the second portion.

15. The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the controller is operable to activate the first plurality of vibration motors and the second plurality of vibration motors in a manner that replicates fingers tracing from temples to ears of the user by sequentially activating the first plurality of vibration motors and sequentially activating the second plurality of vibration motors.

16. The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the controller is further operable to generate vibrations with one or more of the vibration motors to emulate a breathing pattern for the user.

17. The wearable device of claim 1 , further comprising a third plurality of vibration motors mounted to the headband, wherein the headband includes a main portion and a second portion extending vertically from the main portion when the headband is worn by the user, wherein the third plurality of vibration motors are mounted to the second portion to be spaced vertically from the first plurality of vibration motors and the second plurality of vibration motors when the headband is worn by the user.

18. A wearable device for providing therapy to a user, the wearable device comprising:

a headband to be worn on a head of the user, the headband having a right side and a left side;

a forehead housing coupled to the headband;

a USB-C port disposed in the forehead housing;

a first plurality of vibration motors mounted to the headband on the right side;

a second plurality of vibration motors mounted to the headband on the left side, wherein the first plurality of vibration motors and the second plurality of vibration motors are located so that vibrations can be felt on opposing sides of the head of the user when the headband is worn by the user, wherein the headband includes first and second layers of material and the first plurality of vibration motors and the second plurality of vibration motors are located between the first and second layers of material;

a third plurality of vibration motors mounted to the headband;

a controller operatively coupled to the first plurality of vibration motors, the second plurality of vibration motors, and the third plurality of vibration motors;

a plurality of infrared light emitting diodes coupled to the controller and arranged to emit infrared light on the head of the user; and

a user interface operatively coupled to the controller to activate the first plurality of vibration motors, the second plurality of vibration motors, and the third plurality of vibration motors,

wherein the controller is operable to generate vibrations such that the user experiences a wave sequence of vibrations from front to back during use, and

wherein the controller is operable to generate vibrations that emulate a breathing pattern for the user.

19. A wearable device for providing therapy to a user, the wearable device comprising:

a headband to be worn on a head of the user, the headband having a right side and a left side;

a first plurality of vibration motors mounted to the headband on the right side;

a second plurality of vibration motors mounted to the headband on the left side,
