Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an interface for a fan that includes a first bracket coupled to the fan, where the fan is configured to direct a flow of air through an opening of a duct, and the opening comprises a central axis extending therethrough, a second bracket coupled to a frame surrounding the opening of the duct, where the first bracket and the second bracket are configured to surround the opening of the duct, the second bracket is configured to support the first bracket, and the second bracket is partially radially within the first bracket relative to the central axis of the opening, and a gasket disposed between the first bracket and the second bracket, where the first bracket, the second bracket, and the gasket are configured to sealingly engage with one another without mechanical securement.

Claims (35)

1. A fan interface, comprising:

a fan assembly configured to generate an airflow;

a bracket coupled to the fan assembly;

a frame configured to support the fan assembly and couple with ductwork, wherein the frame comprises:

a base panel;

an inner surface defining an opening that coordinates with the ductwork to define a flow path for the airflow; and

a support structure surrounding the opening and configured to engage the bracket; and

a seal configured to limit the airflow from passing through a gap between the frame and the fan assembly in an installed configuration, the seal comprising:

a first portion coupled to the inner surface of the frame;

a second portion coupled to a flange of the fan assembly; and

a body portion extending from the first portion to the second portion.

2. The fan interface of claim 1 , wherein the seal comprises a bellows.

3. The fan interface of claim 1 , wherein the flange is a vertically extending flange that extends along the flow path of the airflow.

4. The fan interface of claim 3 , wherein a height of the seal corresponds to a distance between the inner surface of the frame and an edge of the vertically extending flange.

5. The fan interface of claim 3 , wherein the second portion of the seal is coupled to the vertically extending flange via a fastener.

6. The fan interface of claim 3 , wherein the second portion of the seal is coupled to the vertically extending flange via an adhesive.

7. The fan interface of claim 1 , wherein the first portion of the seal is coupled to the inner surface of the frame via an adhesive.

8. The fan interface of claim 1 , wherein the first portion of the seal is coupled to the inner surface of the frame via one or more fasteners.

9. The fan interface of claim 1 , wherein the support structure comprises:

a first support structure portion configured to engage with the base panel; and

a second support structure portion configured to engage with the bracket.

10. The fan interface of claim 9 , wherein the bracket comprises:

a vertically extending flange configured to couple to the fan assembly; and

a horizontally extending flange extending transversely from the vertically extending flange, wherein the horizontally extending flange is configured to abut a surface of the second support structure portion of the support structure in the installed configuration.

11. A climate management system, comprising:

an enclosure comprising a base panel and a frame of the base panel;

ductwork configured to direct an airflow through a building configured to be conditioned by the climate management system, wherein the ductwork is configured to fluidly couple to an ambient environment via an opening, and the frame partially defines the opening;

a fan assembly configured to engage with the frame via a bracket and generate the airflow; and

an interface between the ductwork and the fan assembly, the interface comprising a seal configured to limit the airflow from passing through a gap between the frame and the fan assembly in an installed configuration, the seal comprising:

a first portion coupled to an inner surface of the frame;

a second portion coupled to a vertically extending flange of the fan assembly; and

a body portion extending from the first portion to the second portion.

12. The climate management system of claim 11 , wherein the frame comprises a support structure surrounding the opening and configured to engage the bracket to support the fan assembly.

13. The climate management system of claim 11 , wherein the interface comprises dampers configured to dampen vibrational energy generated by the fan assembly.

14. The climate management system of claim 11 , wherein the seal comprises a bellows.
