Abstract

A system and device for collecting and delivering smoker statistics to an external storage device that accurately describe a smoker's smoking habits.

Claims (23)

1 . An electronic cigarette comprising:

an electronic cigarette power supply comprising:

a tubular housing; and

a battery mounted within the tubular housing; and

a data logging device irremovably coupled to and within the tubular housing, wherein the data logging device is configured to collect and wirelessly transmit smoker data collected during use of the electronic cigarette, wherein the smoker data comprises a unique smoker identification configured to associate a particular smoker with the electronic cigarette.

2 . The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the data logging device comprises a friction-fit suspension plate.

3 . The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the data logging device further comprises an edge connector.

4 . The electronic cigarette of claim 3 , further comprising a ribbon cable electrically connecting the battery to the edge connector.

5 . The electronic cigarette of claim 3 , further comprising at least one electrical wire connecting the battery to the edge connector, whereby the data logging device is separable from the electrical wire by severing the edge connector inboard from a location where the electrical wire is connected to the edge connector.

6 . The electronic cigarette of claim 5 , wherein the electrical wire is directly soldered to an outer edge of the edge connector.

7 . The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the unique smoker identification comprises a custom data string provided by the manufacturer of the electronic cigarette.

8 . The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the unique smoker identification is generated at a time of purchase.

9 . The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the unique smoker identification is generated via an online transaction.

10 . An electronic cigarette comprising:

an electronic cigarette cartomizer comprising:

a tubular housing;

a heater mounted within the tubular housing; and

a data logging device irremovably coupled to and within the tubular housing, wherein the data logging device comprises a mounting mechanism configured to suspend the data logging device within the tubular housing, and further wherein the data logging device is configured to collect and wirelessly transmit smoker data collected during use of the electronic cigarette, wherein the smoker data comprises a unique smoker identification configured to associate a particular smoker with the electronic cigarette.

11 . The electronic cigarette of claim 10 , wherein the mounting mechanism comprises a friction-fit suspension plate.

12 . The electronic cigarette of claim 10 , wherein the data logging device further comprises an edge connector.

13 . The electronic cigarette of claim 10 , further comprising a ribbon cable electrically connecting the heater to the edge connector.

14 . The electronic cigarette of claim 10 , further comprising at least one electrical wire connecting the heater to the edge connector, whereby the data logging device is separable from the electrical wire by severing the edge connector inboard from a location where the electrical wire is connected to the edge connector.

15 . The electronic cigarette of claim 14 , wherein the electrical wire is directly soldered to an outer edge of the edge connector.
