Abstract

In some examples, the designated set of resources are subsequently monitored for session activities of multiple users that are not of the first group. For each of the multiple users, the computer system utilizes one or more predictive models to determine a likelihood of the user performing a desired type of activity based on one or more session activities detected for that user.

Claims (42)

1 . A network computer system comprising:

one or more processors;

a memory to store a set of instructions;

wherein the one or more processors access the set of instructions to perform operations that comprise:

detecting, from monitoring a website in a given time interval, each of multiple users performing a corresponding initiating event to access the website;

for each of the multiple users, (i) recording, in connection with the initiating event, one or more events in sequence, the one or more events reflecting a series of activities of the user; and (ii) based at least in part on the recorded sequence of events, making a determination as to whether the user is likely to be influenced into performing a desired action through intervention;

for at least a first user of the multiple users for whom the determination is that the user is not likely to be influenced by intervention, performing no intervention; and

for at least a second user of the multiple users for whom the determination is that the user is likely to be influenced by intervention, triggering performance of an intervention.

2 . The network computer system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

recording a set of attributes with each event of the recorded sequence of events; and

wherein triggering performance of an intervention includes selecting a particular intervention for the second user, based on the set of attributes recorded for the second user.

3 . The network computer system of claim 2 , wherein the operations further comprise:

selecting a particular intervention based on an intervention type.

4 . The network computer system of claim 3 , wherein the particular intervention corresponds to a communication displayed on a device of the second user.

5 . The network computer system of claim 3 , wherein the particular intervention corresponds to a promotional offer made to each selected user.

6 . The network computer system of claim 2 , wherein for each of the multiple users, the set of attributes include one or more attributes that reflect an item that was a subject of a user activity of the series of activities that the user performed.

7 . The network computer system of claim 1 , wherein for each of the multiple users, the recorded event includes an initial request to access a web resource of the website in an initial visit.

8 . The network computer system of claim 1 , wherein for each of the multiple users, making the determination includes implementing a predictive model to make the determination for the user.

9 . The network computer system of claim 1 , wherein the desired action corresponds to a conversion action.

10 . The network computer system of claim 1 , wherein the user is unknown.

11 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium that stores instructions, which when executed by one or more processors of a network computer system, cause the network computer system to perform operations that include:

detecting, from monitoring a website in a given time interval, each of multiple users performing a corresponding initiating event to access the website;

for each of the multiple users, (i) recording, in connection with the initiating event, one or more events in sequence, the one or more events reflecting a series of activities of the user; and (ii) based at least in part on the recorded sequence of events, making a determination as to whether the user is likely to be influenced into performing a desired action through intervention;

for at least a first user of the multiple users for whom the determination is that the user is not likely to be influenced by intervention, performing no intervention; and

for at least a second user of the multiple users for whom the determination is that the user is likely to be influenced by intervention, triggering performance of an intervention.

12 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise:

recording a set of attributes with each event of the recorded sequence of events; and

wherein triggering performance of an intervention includes selecting a particular intervention for the second user, based on the set of attributes recorded for the second user.

13 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 12 , wherein the operations further comprise:

selecting a particular intervention based on an intervention type.

14 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the particular intervention corresponds to a communication displayed on a device of the second user.

15 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the particular intervention corresponds to a promotional offer made to each selected user.

16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 12 ,

wherein for each of the multiple users, the set of attributes include one or more attributes that reflect an item that was a subject of a user activity of the series of activities that the user performed.

17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein for each of the multiple users, the recorded event includes an initial request to access a web resource of the website in an initial visit.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein for each of the multiple users, making the determination includes implementing a predictive model to make the determination for the user.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the user is unknown.

20 . A computer-implemented method comprising:

detecting, from monitoring a website in a given time interval, each of multiple users performing a corresponding initiating event to access the website;

for each of the multiple users, (i) recording, in connection with the initiating event, one or more events in sequence, the one or more events reflecting a series of activities of the user; and (ii) based at least in part on the recorded sequence of events, making a determination as to whether the user is likely to be influenced into performing a desired action through intervention;

for at least a first user of the multiple users for whom the determination is that the user is not likely to be influenced by intervention, performing no intervention; and

for at least a second user of the multiple users for whom the determination is that the user is likely to be influenced by intervention, triggering performance of an intervention.
