Abstract

Various aspects described herein relate to presenting drug dispensing information. Data related to a plurality of dispensing events initiated by one or more employees, of an electronic drug dispensing system can be received. A set of dispensing events of the plurality of dispensing events can be determined as constituting possible misappropriation of drugs by the one or more employees. An alert related to the set of dispensing events can be provided based on determining that the set of dispensing events constitute possible misappropriation of drugs.

Claims (59)

21 . A computer-implemented method for processing drug dispensing data to determine a possible drug misappropriation, the computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving, by a distributed analytics system, drug dispensing data from one or more dispensing logs;

identifying, by the distributed analytics system, one or more possible drug misappropriation events based at least in part on the one or more dispensing logs;

determining a priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events based on at least one of:

one or more rules applied by a rule applying component of the distributed analytics system, or

a pattern analysis applied by a data patterning component of the distributed analytics system; and

causing to display, by the distributed analytics system, one or more alerts on a graphical user interface (GUI), wherein the one or more alerts facilitate further investigation of a respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events by causing the GUI to display additional information of the respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events.

22 . The computer-implemented method of claim 21 , wherein:

identifying, by the distributed analytics system, the one or more possible drug misappropriation events comprises identifying at least two possible drug misappropriation events;

determining the priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events comprises determining the priority of the at least two possible drug misappropriation events; and

upon identifying at least two possible drug misappropriation events, the one or more alerts are displayed based on the priority determined for each of the at least two possible drug misappropriation events.

23 . The computer-implemented method of claim 21 , wherein the priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events is based on the one or more rules each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events satisfies.

24 . The computer-implemented method of claim 21 , wherein the priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events is based on one or more patterns to which each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events relates.

25 . The computer-implemented method of claim 21 , wherein the priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events is based on a level of deviation from one or more patterns.

26 . The computer-implemented method of claim 21 , wherein causing to display, by the distributed analytics system, one or more alerts on a GUI, wherein the one or more alerts facilitate further investigation of a respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events by causing the GUI to display additional information of the respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events comprises:

causing to display, in a first window, the one or more alerts depicting the one or more possible drug misappropriation events; and

upon detecting a user interaction with at least one of the one or more alerts, displaying a second window, the second window containing additional information of at least one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events.

27 . The computer-implemented method of claim 21 , wherein each of the one or more alerts includes a feedback component for receiving feedback that enables activation or deactivation of a rule or a pattern used to determine the one or more possible drug misappropriation events.

28 . The computer-implemented method of claim 27 , comprising:

receiving, via the feedback component, feedback indicating whether the one or more possible drug misappropriation events is an actual drug misappropriation event.

29 . The computer-implemented method of claim 28 , wherein the feedback received via the feedback component activates or deactivates the rule or the pattern used to determine the one or more possible drug misappropriation events.

30 . A system for processing drug dispensing data to determine a possible drug misappropriation, the system comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one storage comprising instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:

receiving drug dispensing data from one or more dispensing logs;

identifying one or more possible drug misappropriation events based at least in part on the one or more dispensing logs;

determining a priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events based on at least one of:

one or more rules applied by a rule applying component of a distributed analytics system, or

a pattern analysis applied by a data patterning component of the distributed analytics system; and

causing to display one or more alerts on a graphical user interface (GUI), wherein the one or more alerts facilitate further investigation of a respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events by causing the GUI to display additional information of the respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events.

31 . The system of claim 30 , wherein:

identifying the one or more possible drug misappropriation events comprises identifying at least two possible drug misappropriation events;

determining the priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events comprises determining the priority of the at least two possible drug misappropriation events; and

upon identifying at least two possible drug misappropriation events, the one or more alerts are caused to be displayed based on the priority determined for each of the at least two possible drug misappropriation events.

32 . The system of claim 30 , wherein the priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events is based on the one or more rules each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events satisfies.

33 . The system of claim 30 , wherein the priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events is based on one or more patterns to which each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events relates.

34 . The system of claim 30 , wherein the priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events is based on a level of deviation from one or more patterns.

35 . The system of claim 30 , wherein causing to display one or more alerts on a GUI, wherein the one or more alerts facilitate further investigation of a respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events by causing the GUI to display additional information of the respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events comprises:

causing to display, in a first window, the one or more alerts depicting the one or more possible drug misappropriation events; and

upon detecting a user interaction with at least one of the one or more alerts, displaying a second window, the second window containing additional information of at least one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events.

36 . The system of claim 30 , wherein each of the one or more alerts includes a feedback component for receiving feedback that enables activation or deactivation of a rule or a pattern used to determine the one or more possible drug misappropriation events.

37 . The system of claim 36 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving, via the feedback component, feedback indicating whether the one or more possible drug misappropriation events is an actual drug misappropriation event.

38 . A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations for processing drug dispensing data to determine a possible drug misappropriation, the operations comprising:

receiving drug dispensing data from one or more dispensing logs;

identifying one or more possible drug misappropriation events based at least in part on the one or more dispensing logs;

determining a priority of each of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events based on at least one of:

one or more rules applied by a rule applying component of a distributed analytics system, or

a pattern analysis applied by a data patterning component of the distributed analytics system; and

causing to display one or more alerts on a graphical user interface (GUI), wherein the one or more alerts facilitate further investigation of a respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events by causing the GUI to display additional information of the respective one of the one or more possible drug misappropriation events.
