Power Control for Wireless Communications
Wireless communications may be used to support transmission power control. A reference signal may be mapped to a power control parameter set. A message to schedule a transmission may be received that indicates the power control parameter set. A transmission power for the scheduled transmission may be determined based on the reference signal.
1 . A method comprising:
updating, by a wireless device and based on a received medium access control (MAC) control element (CE), a mapping between:
a pathloss reference reference signal (RS); and
a power control parameter; and
transmitting, using a transmission power based on the updated mapping, an uplink signal.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving one or more messages comprising one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of power control parameters, wherein the plurality includes the power control parameter mapped to the pathloss reference RS.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the updating comprises mapping the pathloss reference RS to spatial relation information associated with a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource indicated by a sounding reference signal resource indicator (SRI) field in downlink control information (DCI), received by the wireless device, comprising the power control parameter.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the updating comprises associating a pathloss reference RS index with the power control parameter.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving downlink control information (DCI) for scheduling transmission of a second uplink signal, wherein the DCI comprises a sounding reference signal resource indicator (SRI) field indicating the power control parameter;
determining, based on a pathloss reference RS index mapped to the power control parameter, a transmission power for a scheduled transmission of the second uplink signal; and
transmitting the second uplink signal using the second transmission power.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmission of the uplink signal comprises a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the pathloss reference RS comprises a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) pathloss reference RS, and
wherein the power control parameter comprises a sounding reference signal resource index (SRI) PUSCH power control value.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the updating comprises replacing a pathloss reference RS index in the power control parameter with a second pathloss reference RS index.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the pathloss reference RS comprises one of a synchronization signal block (SSB) or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS).
10 . A wireless device comprising:
one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, configure the wireless device to:
update, based on a received medium access control (MAC) control element (CE), a mapping between:
a pathloss reference reference signal (RS); and
a power control parameter; and
transmit, using a transmission power based on the updated mapping, an uplink signal.
11 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to:
receive one or more messages comprising one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of power control parameters, wherein the plurality includes the power control parameter mapped to the pathloss reference RS.
12 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to update the mapping by mapping the pathloss reference RS to spatial relation information associated with a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource indicated by a sounding reference signal resource indicator (SRI) field in downlink control information (DCI), received by the wireless device, comprising the power control parameter.
13 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to update the mapping by associating a pathloss reference RS index with the power control parameter.
14 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to:
receive downlink control information (DCI) for scheduling transmission of a second uplink signal, wherein the DCI comprises a sounding reference signal resource indicator (SRI) field indicating the power control parameter;
determine, based on a pathloss reference RS index mapped to the power control parameter, a transmission power for a scheduled transmission of the second uplink signal; and
transmit the second uplink signal using the second transmission power.
15 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to transmit the uplink signal by transmission of the uplink signal comprises a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission.
16 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the pathloss reference RS comprises a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) pathloss reference RS, and
wherein the power control parameter comprises a sounding reference signal resource index (SRI) PUSCH power control value.
17 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to update the mapping by replacing a pathloss reference RS index in the power control parameter with a second pathloss reference RS index.
18 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the pathloss reference RS comprises one of a synchronization signal block (SSB) or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS).
19 . One or more non-transitory, computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed, cause:
updating, by a wireless device and based on a received medium access control (MAC) control element (CE), a mapping between:
a pathloss reference reference signal (RS); and
a power control parameter; and
transmitting, using a transmission power based on the updated mapping, an uplink signal.
20 . The one or more non-transitory, computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause:
receiving one or more messages comprising one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of power control parameters, wherein the plurality includes the power control parameter mapped to the pathloss reference RS.

The one or more non-transitory, computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the updating by causing mapping the pathloss reference RS to spatial relation information associated with a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource indicated by a sounding reference signal resource indicator (SRI) field in downlink control information (DCI), received by the wireless device, comprising the power control parameter.
22 . The one or more non-transitory, computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the updating by causing associating a pathloss reference RS index with the power control parameter.
23 . The one or more non-transitory, computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause:
receiving downlink control information (DCI) for scheduling transmission of a second uplink signal, wherein the DCI comprises a sounding reference signal resource indicator (SRI) field indicating the power control parameter;
determining, based on a pathloss reference RS index mapped to the power control parameter, a transmission power for a scheduled transmission of the second uplink signal; and
transmitting the second uplink signal using the second transmission power.
24 . The one or more non-transitory, computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the transmission of the uplink signal comprises a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission.
25 . The one or more non-transitory, computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the pathloss reference RS comprises a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) pathloss reference RS, and
wherein the power control parameter comprises a sounding reference signal resource index (SRI) PUSCH power control value.
26 . The one or more non-transitory, computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the updating by causing replacing a pathloss reference RS index in the power control parameter with a second pathloss reference RS index.
27 . The one or more non-transitory, computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the pathloss reference RS comprises one of a synchronization signal block (SSB) or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS).
