Abstract

A modular stroller having a wagon-like configuration. The stroller includes a collapsible frame having a handle portion front and rear body portions and a bottom body portion, and a foldable receptacle body configured to receive a child's body thereon. The foldable receptacle body is configured to be removably securable within the collapsible frame. The modular wagon stroller is movable between (1) a fully open position, (2) a partially folded position, and (3) a fully folded (i.e., closed) position.

Claims (38)

1 . A modular wagon stroller comprising:

a collapsible frame including:

a handle portion having a first pair of generally parallel members;

a front body portion;

a rear body portion;

a bottom body portion;

the front body portion including a second pair of generally parallel members each having an upper end attached to a portion of each of the first pair of generally parallel members, respectively, and a lower end rotatably engaging the bottom body portion at respective first points;

the rear body portion including a third pair of generally parallel members each having an upper end rotatably engaging a lower end of each of the first pair of generally parallel members, respectively, and a lower end rotatably engaging the bottom body portion at respective second points; and

a foldable receptacle body including a sidewall and a base surrounded by the sidewall and configured to receive a child's body thereon, the foldable receptacle body structure being configured to be removably securable within the collapsible frame; and

wherein the foldable receptacle body is moveable between an angled forward-facing position, an angled rearward-facing position, a flat position and a wagon position defining a wagon-like space.

2 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 1 , wherein the modular wagon stroller is movable between (1) a fully open position, (2) a partially folded position, and (3) a fully folded position.

3 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 2 , wherein a first angle is formed between each of the first pair of the generally parallel members and each of the respective third pair of generally parallel members.

The modular wagon stroller of claim 3 , wherein the first angle is about 180° when the modular wagon stroller is in the fully open position, wherein the first angle is about 90° when the modular wagon stroller is in the partially folded position, and wherein the first angle in is about 45° the modular wagon stroller is in the fully folded position.

5 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 2 , wherein a second angle is formed between each of the second pair of generally parallel members and respective members of the bottom body portion proximate the respective first points.

The modular wagon stroller of claim 5 , wherein the second angle is about 90° when the modular wagon stroller is in the fully open position, wherein the second angle is about 45° when the modular wagon stroller is in the partially folded position, and wherein the second angle in less than about 45° the modular wagon stroller is in the fully folded position.

7 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 2 , wherein a third angle is formed between each of the third pair of generally parallel members and respective members of the bottom body portion the respective second points

The modular wagon stroller of claim 7 , wherein the third angle is about 90° when the modular wagon stroller is in the fully open position, wherein the third angle is about 45° when the modular wagon stroller is in the partially folded position, and wherein the third angle in less than about 45° the modular wagon stroller is in the fully folded position.

9 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 1 , wherein the foldable receptacle body includes rotatable end cushion members configured to fold upwards to abut opposed inside end surfaces of the sidewall and provide a seat backing.

10 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 1 , wherein the handle portion includes a transverse member extending between each of the first pair of generally parallel members.

11 . A modular wagon stroller comprising:

a collapsible frame including:

a handle portion having a first pair of generally parallel members;

a front body portion;

a rear body portion; and

a bottom body portion; and

a foldable receptacle body including a sidewall and a base surrounded by the sidewall and configured to receive a child's body thereon, the foldable receptacle body being configured to be removably securable within the collapsible frame, wherein the foldable receptacle body is moveable between an angled forward-facing position, an angled rearward-facing position, a flat position and a wagon position defining a wagon-like space;

wherein the modular wagon stroller is movable between (1) a fully open position, (2) a partially folded position, and (3) a fully folded position.

12 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 11 ,

wherein the front body portion includes a second pair of generally parallel members each having an upper end attached to a portion of each of the first pair of generally parallel members, respectively, and a lower end rotatably engaging the bottom body portion at respective first points; and

wherein the rear body portion includes a third pair of generally parallel members each having an upper end rotatably engaging a lower end of each of the first pair of generally parallel members, respectively, and a lower end rotatably engaging the bottom body portion at respective second points.

13 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 12 , wherein a first angle is formed between each of the first pair of the generally parallel members and each of the respective third pair of generally parallel members.

The modular wagon stroller of claim 13 , wherein the first angle is about 180° when the modular wagon stroller is in the fully open position, wherein the first angle is about 90° when the modular wagon stroller is in the partially folded position, and wherein the first angle in is about 45° the modular wagon stroller is in the fully folded position.

15 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 12 , wherein a second angle is formed between each of the second pair of generally parallel members and respective members of the bottom body portion proximate the respective first points.

16 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 15 , wherein the second angle is about 90° when the modular wagon stroller is in the fully open position, wherein the second angle is about 45° when the modular wagon stroller is in the partially folded position, and wherein the second angle in less than about 45° the modular wagon stroller is in the fully folded position.

17 . The modular wagon stroller of claim 12 , wherein a third angle is formed between each of the third pair of generally parallel members and respective members of the bottom body portion the respective second points

The modular wagon stroller of claim 17 , wherein the third angle is about 90° when the modular wagon stroller is in the fully open position, wherein the third angle is about 45° when the modular wagon stroller is in the partially folded position, and wherein the third angle in less than about 45° the modular wagon stroller is in the fully folded position.
