Abstract

A cartridge for an aerosol provision system can include the cartridge and a control unit, and the system can include a vaporizer for vaporizing An aerosolizable material. The cartridge can include an air channel extending from an air inlet for the cartridge to an outlet via an aerosol generation region, and a reservoir for containing aerosolizable material for aerosolizing. The cartridge can further include an aerosolizable material level observation means for allowing a user to observe a level of aerosolizable material inside the reservoir. The aerosolizable-material-level observation means can include at least one contoured surface located on a surface of the cartridge to improve the visibility of the aerosolizable material level inside the reservoir due to the interaction of light with the contoured surface.

Claims (45)

1 . An aerosol provision system, wherein the system comprises:

a vaporizer for vaporizing an aerosolizable material;

an air channel extending from an air inlet to a mouthpiece outlet via an aerosol generation region;

a reservoir for containing aerosolizable material for aerosolizing;

an aerosolizable-material-level observation means for allowing a user to observe a level of aerosolizable material inside the reservoir;

a first lip-engaging mouthpiece surface for engaging an upper lip of a user during use of the aerosol provision system, wherein the first window is surrounded by the first lip-engaging mouthpiece surface; and

a second lip-engaging mouthpiece surface, opposite the first lip-engaging mouthpiece surface, for engaging a lower lip of a user during use of the aerosol provision system, wherein the second window is surrounded by the second lip-engaging mouthpiece surface,

wherein the aerosolizable-material-level observation means comprises a portion of the aerosol provision system, wherein the portion forms a first wall portion of the reservoir, and wherein the portion further comprises:

a first window for viewing into the reservoir, wherein the first window is inclined towards the mouthpiece outlet; and

a second window, separate from the first window, wherein the second window is inclined towards the mouthpiece outlet;

wherein the first window is located on a first side of the reservoir, and wherein the second window is located on a second side, opposite the first side, of the reservoir.

2 . An aerosol provision system according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol provision system comprises a mouthpiece comprising the mouthpiece outlet, wherein the mouthpiece comprises each window.

3 . An aerosol provision system according to claim 1 , wherein each window has a maximum dimension of no more than 30 mm.

4 . An aerosol provision system according to claim 1 , wherein each window is elongate.

5 . An aerosol provision system according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol provision system further comprises a covering means for inhibiting the visibility of the vaporizer by the user, wherein the covering means comprises an opaque material forming part of the aerosol provision system.

6 . An aerosol provision system according to claim 5 , wherein the covering means is further configured for inhibiting the visibility of the aerosol generation region by the user.

7 . An aerosol provision system according to claim 5 , wherein the opaque material is an opaque plastic.

8 . An aerosol provision system according to claim 1 , further comprising:

an aerosol outlet tube, extending between the aerosol generating region and the outlet, for directing aerosol generated in the aerosol generating region through to the outlet;

wherein the reservoir is annular and extends around the aerosol outlet tube.

9 . An aerosol provision system according to claim 1 , wherein an outer surface of the first window is flush with the first lip-engaging mouthpiece surface, and/or an outer surface of the second window is flush with the second lip-engaging mouthpiece surface.

10 . A method of observing the level of aerosolizable material inside the reservoir from the aerosol provision system according to claim 1 , wherein the method comprises:

using the aerosolizable-material-level observation means to observe the level of aerosolizable material inside the reservoir.

11 . A cartridge for an aerosol provision system, the cartridge comprising:

a vaporizer for vaporizing an aerosolizable material, and

wherein the cartridge further comprises:

an air channel extending from an air inlet for the cartridge to a mouthpiece outlet via an aerosol generation region;

a reservoir for containing aerosolizable material for aerosolizing;

wherein the cartridge further comprises an aerosolizable-material-level observation means for allowing a user to observe a level of aerosolizable material inside the reservoir;

wherein the aerosolizable-material-level observation means comprises a portion of the cartridge, wherein the portion forms a first wall portion of the reservoir, and wherein the portion further comprises:

a first window for viewing into the reservoir, wherein the first window is inclined towards the mouthpiece outlet; and

a second window, separate from the first window, wherein the second window is inclined towards the mouthpiece outlet;

wherein the first window is located on a first side of the reservoir, and wherein the second window is located on a second side, opposite the first side, of the reservoir,

and a control unit, wherein the control unit comprises a cartridge receiving section that includes an interface arranged to cooperatively engage with the cartridge so as to releasably couple the cartridge to the control unit, wherein the control unit further comprises a power supply and control circuitry, and wherein the cartridge is configured to be couplable to the control unit about more than one orientation.

12 . A method of observing the level of aersolizable material inside the reservoir from the reservoir of the cartridge according to claim 11 , wherein the method comprises:

using the aerosolizable-material-level observation means to observe the level of aerosolizable material inside the reservoir.

13 . An aerosol provision system, wherein the system comprises:

a vaporizer for vaporizing an aerosolizable material;

an air channel extending from an air inlet to a mouthpiece outlet via an aerosol generation region;

a reservoir for containing aerosolizable material for aerosolizing;

an aerosolizable-material-level observation means for allowing a user to observe a level of aerosolizable material inside the reservoir

wherein the aerosolizable-material-level observation means comprises a portion of the aerosol provision system, wherein the portion forms a first wall portion of the reservoir, and wherein the portion further comprises:

a first window for viewing into the reservoir, wherein the first window is inclined towards the mouthpiece outlet; and

a second window, wherein the second window is inclined towards the mouthpiece outlet;
