Abstract

Methods, apparatus, and computer program products are disclosed for providing an impression to a consumer based on consumer preferences for future promotions. The methods include accessing consumer preferences for future promotions that specify at least one promotion request relating to a provider or a promotion category, and one or more promotion qualities, analyzing a plurality of promotions to identify those that satisfy the consumer preferences, and providing an impression to the consumer indicating the availability of the identified promotions. In embodiments, the methods can be used to identify promotions that are combinable with additional promotions offered by the same provider. Corresponding apparatus and computer program products are also provided.

Claims (40)

1 . An apparatus, comprising at least one processor and at least one memory for storing instructions that, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:

generate a score, based at least in part on binormal separation (BNS), for a word within a parameter of parsed instrument text associated with an instrument, the score representing a likelihood that the word identifies the parameter and a significance of the word within the parameter;

generate, based at least in part on the score, an electronic communication comprising content associated with the instrument, wherein:

the score satisfies a predetermined threshold; and

the instrument satisfies a preference associated with a consumer device; and

transmit the electronic communication to the consumer device.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the parameter specifies how and when an instrument may be redeemed.

3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the preference is determined based on an instrument request received from the consumer device.

4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the preference is associated with a future instrument associated with a consumer associated with the consumer device.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the electronic communication indicates an availability of the instrument.

6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the preference is associated with an instrument provider or an instrument category.

7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein:

the instrument at least comprises a first instrument and a second instrument; and

the electronic communication indicates a combinability of the first instrument and the second instrument.

8 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the combinability is determined based at least in part on parameters, database tags, instrument text, or any combination thereof, to determine if the first instrument and the second instrument can, or cannot, be combined with other instruments offered by a common instrument provider.

9 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the electronic communication comprises one or more of an electronic message, a tweet, a text message, an alert, or a mobile device notification.

10 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:

generating a score, based at least in part on binormal separation (BNS), for a word within a parameter of parsed instrument text associated with an instrument, the score representing a likelihood that the word identifies the parameter and a significance of the word within the parameter;

generating, based at least in part on the score, an electronic communication comprising content associated with the instrument, wherein:

the score satisfies a predetermined threshold; and

the instrument satisfies a preference associated with a consumer device; and

transmitting the electronic communication to the consumer device.

11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein

the parameter specifies how and when an instrument may be redeemed.

12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the preference is determined based on an instrument request received from the consumer device.

13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the preference is associated with a future instrument associated with a consumer associated with the consumer device.

14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the electronic communication indicates an availability of the instrument.

15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the preference is associated with an instrument provider or an instrument category.

16 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein:

the instrument at least comprises a first instrument and a second instrument; and

the electronic communication indicates a combinability of the first instrument and the second instrument.

17 . The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the combinability is determined based at least in part on parameters, database tags, instrument text, or any combination thereof, to determine if the first instrument and at the second instrument can, or cannot, be combined with other instruments offered by a common instrument provider.

18 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the electronic communication comprises one or more of an electronic message, a tweet, a text message, an alert, or a mobile device notification.

19 . A computer program product, comprising at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising computer code that, when executed by a processor, cause an apparatus to:

generate a score, based at least in part on binormal separation (BNS), for a word within a parameter of parsed instrument text associated with an instrument, the score representing a likelihood that the word identifies the parameter and a significance of the word within the parameter;

generate, based at least in part on the score, an electronic communication comprising content associated with the instrument, wherein:

the score satisfies a predetermined threshold; and

the instrument satisfies a preference associated with a consumer device; and

transmit the electronic communication to the consumer device.

20 . The computer program product of claim 19 , wherein the parameter specifies how and when an instrument may be redeemed.
