Abstract

A removable substrate for an insect attractant device includes a body having front and rear faces, a grip portion, and a base disposed opposite the grip portion. The removable substrate further includes a first lateral portion extending from the base, and a second lateral portion extending from the base. A projection extends outwardly from the base, lowermost ends of the first and second lateral portions are disposed below the projection, and an adhesive is applied to the front face and the rear face.

Claims (41)

1 . A method of providing an insect attractant system, the method comprising:

providing a base, the base defining a planar slot positioned between a lens and a power source, the base further including a rear face; and

providing a planar substrate having a lower portion, a grip portion positioned opposite the lower portion, and a central portion positioned between the lower portion and the grip portion, the lower portion being configured to be received into the planar slot, wherein the lower portion includes a first lateral portion and a second lateral portion, the first and second lateral portions being configured to straddle the base when the lower portion of the planar substrate is received into the planar slot, wherein an adhesive is applied to the central portion,

wherein the substrate is spaced apart from the lens defining a first distance therebetween,

wherein the substrate is spaced apart from the rear face defining a second distance therebetween,

wherein the first distance is between about 5 mm and about 50 mm and the second distance is between about 5 mm and 50 mm.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a gap is defined between the first lateral portion and the second lateral portion.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the first lateral portion includes a first internal lateral edge and the second lateral portion includes a second internal lateral edge, wherein the gap is defined between the first internal lateral edge and the second internal lateral edge.

4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the gap is configured to receive at least a portion of the base.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first lateral portion is a mirror image of the second lateral portion.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the central portion defines a front face, and wherein the adhesive is applied to both of the front face and the rear face.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive is surrounded by an adhesive-free border.

8 . A removable substrate for an insect attractant device, comprising:

a body having front and rear faces, the body further including:

a grip portion; and

a lower portion disposed below the grip portion, the lower portion including a first lateral portion having a first external lateral edge and a first internal lateral edge, and a second lateral portion having a second external lateral edge and a second internal lateral edge,

wherein a distance between the first internal lateral edge and the first external lateral edge defines a distance D 3 ,

wherein a distance between the second internal lateral edge and the second external lateral edge defines a distance D 4 ,

wherein a gap extends between the first internal lateral edge and the second internal lateral edge, wherein the gap defines a distance D 5 ,

wherein the distance D 5 is greater than the distance D 3 and the distance D 4 ,

wherein the first external lateral edge and the second external lateral edge comprise outer edges of the body,

wherein an adhesive is applied to the front face and the rear face, the adhesive being positioned between the grip portion and the lower portion.

9 . The removable substrate of claim 8 , wherein the first lateral portion is a mirror image of the second lateral portion.

10 . The removable substrate of claim 8 , wherein the adhesive is surrounded by an adhesive-free border at one or both of the front face and the rear face.

11 . The removable substrate of claim 8 , wherein the body is planar.

12 . The removable substrate of claim 8 , wherein the body has a blue color.

13 . The removable substrate of claim 8 , further comprising a peel-off film that is applied to the front face.

14 . A removable substrate for an insect attractant device, comprising:

a body having a front face, the body further including:

a grip portion; and

a lower portion disposed below the grip portion, the lower portion including a first lateral portion having a first internal lateral edge and a first external lateral edge, and a second lateral portion having a second internal lateral edge and a second external lateral edge,

wherein a gap extends between the first internal lateral edge and the second internal lateral edge and defines a distance D 5 ,

wherein a distance between the first internal lateral edge and the first external lateral edge defines a distance D 3 ,

wherein a distance between the second internal lateral edge and the second external lateral edge defines a distance D 4 ,

wherein the distance D 5 is greater than the distance D 3 and the distance D 4 ,

wherein an adhesive is applied to the front face, the adhesive being positioned between the grip portion and the lower portion.

15 . The removable substrate of claim 14 , wherein the first and second lateral portions are configured to straddle a housing.

16 . The removable substrate of claim 14 , wherein the grip portion, the lower portion, and the first and second lateral portions are planar with respect to one another.

17 . The removable substrate of claim 14 , wherein the first lateral portion is a mirror image of the second lateral portion.

18 . The removable substrate of claim 14 , wherein the body further includes a rear face, wherein an adhesive is applied to the rear face.

19 . The removable substrate of claim 14 , wherein the body has a blue color.
