Abstract

A wireless device receives, from a first base station, configuration parameters of a cell, wherein the configuration parameters comprise first random access, RA, parameters, for at least one first network slice, indicating RA resources. The wireless device transmits one or more RA preambles for a RA procedure using the RA resources of the cell. The wireless device transmits to a second base station, a RA report of the RA procedure, wherein the RA report comprises at least one first identifier of the at least one first network slice.

Claims (51)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device from a first base station, configuration parameters of a cell, wherein the configuration parameters comprise first random access, RA, parameters, for at least one first network slice, indicating RA resources;

transmitting, by the wireless device, one or more RA preambles for a RA procedure using the RA resources of the cell; and

transmitting, by the wireless device to a second base station, a RA report of the RA procedure, wherein the RA report comprises at least one first identifier of the at least one first network slice.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the configuration parameters comprise second RA parameters for one or more services other than the at least one first network slice.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the transmitting one or more RA preambles is for accessing the cell and using the at least one first network slice.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting the RA report comprises transmitting the RA report via one or more cells comprising at least one of:

the cell via which the wireless device transmitted the one or more preambles for the RA procedure; or

at least one second cell of the second base station.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the RA report comprises the first RA parameters for the at least one first network slice.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the receiving the configuration parameters of the cell comprises at least one of:

receiving, via the cell, at least one system information block comprising the configuration parameters of the cell; or

receiving a radio resource control (RRC) message comprising the configuration parameters of the cell, the RRC message comprising at least one of:

a RRC release message indicating that the wireless device transitions to an RRC inactive state or an RRC idle state; or

a RRC reconfiguration message.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining, by the wireless device, at least one of:

a failure of the RA procedure via the cell; or

a success of the RA procedure via the cell.

8 . A wireless device comprising one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive, from a first base station, configuration parameters of a cell, wherein the configuration parameters comprise first random access, RA, parameters, for at least one first network slice, indicating RA resources;

transmit, one or more RA preambles for a RA procedure using the RA resources of the cell; and

transmit, to a second base station, a RA report of the RA procedure, wherein the RA report comprises at least one first identifier of the at least one first network slice.

9 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the configuration parameters comprise second RA parameters for one or more services other than the at least one first network slice.

10 . The wireless device of claim 9 , wherein the transmitting one or more RA preambles is for accessing the cell and using the at least one first network slice.

11 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the transmitting the RA report comprises transmitting the RA report via one or more cells comprising at least one of:

the cell via which the wireless device transmitted the one or more preambles for the RA procedure; or

at least one second cell of the second base station.

12 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the RA report comprises the first RA parameters for the at least one first network slice.

13 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the receiving the configuration parameters of the cell comprises at least one of:

receiving, via the cell, at least one system information block comprising the configuration parameters of the cell; or

receiving a radio resource control (RRC) message comprising the configuration parameters of the cell, the RRC message comprising at least one of:

a RRC release message indicating that the wireless device transitions to an RRC inactive state or an RRC idle state; or

a RRC reconfiguration message.

14 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to determine at least one of:

a failure of the RA procedure via the cell; or

a success of the RA procedure via the cell.

15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause a wireless device to:

receive, from a first base station, configuration parameters of a cell, wherein the configuration parameters comprise first random access, RA, parameters, for at least one first network slice, indicating RA resources;

transmit, one or more RA preambles for a RA procedure using the RA resources of the cell; and

transmit, to a second base station, a RA report of the RA procedure, wherein the RA report comprises at least one first identifier of the at least one first network slice.

16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the configuration parameters comprise second RA parameters for one or more services other than the at least one first network slice.

17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the transmitting one or more RA preambles is for accessing the cell and using the at least one first network slice.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the transmitting the RA report comprises transmitting the RA report via one or more cells comprising at least one of:

the cell via which the wireless device transmitted the one or more preambles for the RA procedure; or

at least one second cell of the second base station.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the RA report comprises the first RA parameters for the at least one first network slice.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the receiving the configuration parameters of the cell comprises at least one of:

receiving, via the cell, at least one system information block comprising the configuration parameters of the cell; or

receiving a radio resource control (RRC) message comprising the configuration parameters of the cell, the RRC message comprising at least one of:

a RRC release message indicating that the wireless device transitions to an RRC inactive state or an RRC idle state; or

a RRC reconfiguration message.
