Managing system assets using generative artificial intelligence, including: gathering data describing characteristics of a plurality of storage media; and generating, by a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model, based on the data and one or more attributes of a particular storage medium, a characterization of the particular storage medium.
1 . A method, comprising:
gathering data describing characteristics of a plurality of storage media; and
generating, by a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model, based on the data and one or more attributes of a particular storage medium, a characterization of the particular storage medium.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein gathering the data describing characteristics of a plurality of storage media comprises identifying the plurality of storage media based on a cohort analysis for the particular storage medium.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cohort analysis is based on the one or more attributes of the particular storage medium and another one or more attributes of the plurality of storage media.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein generating the characterization of the particular storage medium comprises simulating runtime activity for the particular storage medium by replaying one or more workloads.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the characterization comprises one or more estimated characteristics of the storage medium.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the one or more estimated characteristics comprises a wear level.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the characterization comprises one or more projected characteristics of the storage medium.
8 . A system comprising:
a memory; and
a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory, the processing device configured to:
gather data describing characteristics of a plurality of storage media; and
generate, by a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model, based on the data and one or more attributes of a particular storage medium, a characterization of the particular storage medium.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein, to gather the data describing characteristics of a plurality of storage media, the processing device is further configured to identify the plurality of storage media based on a cohort analysis for the particular storage medium.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the cohort analysis is based on the one or more attributes of the particular storage medium and another one or more attributes of the plurality of storage media.
11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein, to generate the characterization of the particular storage medium, the processing device is further configured to simulate runtime activity for the particular storage medium by replaying one or more workloads.
12 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the characterization comprises one or more estimated characteristics of the storage medium.
13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the one or more estimated characteristics comprises a wear level.
14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the characterization comprises one or more projected characteristics of the storage medium.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device to:
gather data describing characteristics of a plurality of storage media; and
generate, by a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model, based on the data and one or more attributes of a particular storage medium, a characterization of the particular storage medium.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein, to gather the data describing characteristics of a plurality of storage media, the instructions, when executed, cause the processing device to identify the plurality of storage media based on a cohort analysis for the particular storage medium.
17 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the cohort analysis is based on the one or more attributes of the particular storage medium and another one or more attributes of the plurality of storage media.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein, to generate the characterization of the particular storage medium, the instructions, when executed, cause the processing device to simulate runtime activity for the particular storage medium by replaying one or more workloads.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the characterization comprises one or more estimated characteristics of the storage medium.
20 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 19 , wherein the one or more estimated characteristics comprises a wear level.
