Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer readable medium are disclosed for coordinating multi-space exertion routines. Coordinating multi-space exertion routines includes receiving from a mobile communications device during a first time period an indication of a first space where the mobile communications device is located; receiving from the mobile communications device first data reflective of a first exercise routine during the first time period, the first exercise routine associated with a fitness goal; receiving from the mobile communications device at a second time, an indication of a second space where the mobile communications device is located; outputting to the mobile communications device, instructions for performing a second exercise routine associated with at least one of the fitness goal and the first exercise routine; receiving from the mobile communications device second data reflective of the second exercise routine, wherein at least the first or the second exercise routine is performed using exercise equipment.

Claims (36)

1 . A non-transitory computer readable medium containing instructions that when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to perform operations for coordinating multi-space exertion routines, the operations comprising:

receiving during a first time period, first sensor data associated with operation of a resistance motor of a piece of electronic exercise equipment in a first space;

using at least the first sensor data to determine a first exercise routine performed using the piece of electronic exercise equipment during the first time period, wherein the first exercise routine is performed in the first space in association with a fitness goal directed to at least one specific muscle group;

receiving from a mobile communications device during a second time period, second sensor data in a second space, different from the first space, in which the mobile communications device is located;

using the first sensor data associated with the operation of the resistance motor of the piece of electronic exercise equipment, the second sensor data, and the fitness goal directed to the at least one specific muscle group to determine instructions directing performance of a second exercise routine in the second space in a manner progressing toward the fitness goal, thereby coordinating performance of the second exercise routine in the second space with the first exercise routine in the first space; and

displaying the determined instructions via the mobile communications device.

2 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the piece of electronic exercise equipment includes an electronic weight machine.

3 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the first exercise routine is performed using the electronic weight machine and wherein the second exercise routine is performing using commercial gym equipment, and wherein the instructions are configured to simulate via the commercial gym equipment, the first exercise routine.

4 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the first exercise routine is performed using the electronic weight machine and wherein the second exercise routine is performing using an additional electronic weight machine, and wherein the instructions are configured to simulate via the additional electronic weight machine, the first exercise routine.

5 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the first sensor data reflects a resistive force exerted on a cable associated with the resistive motor.

6 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the second sensor data is associated with a manual input on the mobile communications device.

7 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 6 , wherein the operations further include prompting input of data recording performance of the second exercise routine.

8 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the second sensor data is reflective of output from at least one of an image sensor or a location sensor.

9 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving input indicative of the fitness goal.

10 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are configured to cause muscles recruited during the first exercise routine to be recruited during the second exercise routine.

11 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the mobile communications device is configured to pair with the piece of electronic exercise equipment and to send signals configured to alter electronic resistance of the resistance motor.

12 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further include transmitting signals to the mobile communications device to simulate via an avatar, at least some of the first exercise routine and at least some of the second exercise routine.

13 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the instructions directing performance of the second exercise routine include instructions for using free weights.

14 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further include outputting signals to the mobile communications device to present challenges.

15 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise logging the first sensor data and the second sensor data.

16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise outputting a report reflective of the first sensor data and the sensor second data.

17 . A method for coordinating multi-space exertion routines, the method comprising:

receiving during a first time period, first sensor data associated with operation of a resistance motor of a piece of electronic exercise equipment in a first space;

using at least the first sensor data to determine a first exercise routine performed using the piece of electronic exercise equipment during the first time period, wherein the first exercise routine is performed in the first space in association with a fitness goal directed to at least one specific muscle group;

receiving from a mobile communications device during a second time period second sensor data in a second space, different from the first space, in which the mobile communications device is located;

using the first sensor data associated with the operation of the resistance motor of the piece of electronic exercise equipment, the second sensor data, and the fitness goal directed to the at least one specific muscle group to determine instructions directing performance of a second exercise routine in the second space in a manner progressing toward the fitness goal, thereby coordinating performance of the second exercise routine in the second space with the first exercise routine in the first space; and

displaying the determined instructions via the mobile communications device.

18 . A system for coordinating multi-space exertion routines, the system comprising:

at least one processor configured to:

receive during a first time period, first sensor data associated with operation of a resistance motor of a piece of electronic exercise equipment in a first space;

use at least the first sensor data to determine a first exercise routine performed using the piece of electronic exercise equipment during the first time period, wherein the first exercise routine is performed in the first space in association with a fitness goal directed to at least one specific muscle group;

receive from a mobile communications device during a second time period second sensor data in a second space, different from the first space, in which the mobile communications device is located;

use the first sensor data associated with the operation of the resistance motor of the piece of electronic exercise equipment, the second sensor data, and the fitness goal directed to the at least one specific muscle group to determine instructions directing performance of a second exercise routine in a manner progressing toward the fitness goal, thereby coordinating performance of the second exercise routine in the second space with the first exercise routine in the first space; and

displaying the determined instructions via the mobile communications.

19 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the report compares performances of the first exercise routine and the second exercise routine.

20 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the first exercise routine is associated with at least one of a number of exercise repetitions, a number of exercise sets, a time duration, and a resistance level.
